I was cruising along just fine on my e8400 core2duo 8800 gts 8gb ram but it started getting pretty choppy when I stepped through the dark portal. I was ok with the performance in Hellfire Penn until I got to Zangarmarsh. I was gettng a bit concerned and then last night I went to Shatt city and was lagging like a fool. Slaves were losing follow and toons would fall of aldor rise and and I was like whoa I really need to upgrade to quadcore. I was playing around with the idea of a q6600 but all the threads I read here seemed to state that I should build a rig with the next gen processor. My goal is to run to a 5 box with a lot less lag in cities. Let me know what you think before I pull the trigger on this i7 920, 12 gb, nonsli build? Currently I have raid with the same drives and a symlinked wow folder on the same ocz ssd and I plan on doing the same in the new box. Some not so important questions... Has anyone dropped a GTX 285 in an antec 900 and had drive cage problems? How about the coolermaster V8 with a 900 case hitting the window fan? Anyone here upgraded from the n50 to the 52te? I currently use a nostromo n50 and want to try the new n52te if only because it appears to have 5 more buttons I could use. Anyway here is what I put together in newegg for around 2 large and thanks for reading!

I don't have any experience with those fittings, but I can recommend you reconsider the motherboard. I've heard there are some issues with the ASUS and 12gb of ddr3 running at 1600 speed.

Thanks for the heads up. I keep finding threads that show 1600 is fine with 12gb I will keep looking though.

You can save about $100 by downgrading from Vista Ultimate to Premium, just make sure it is 64-bit. Unless of course you want the extra features that most people never use and possibly end up turning off to make vista faster, lol.

Lol yeah now Im seeing the pain. A lot of folks are getting probs with running 12 gb at 1600. I am thinking new memory or new board now.
