View Full Version : Can I enter FULL SCREEN MODE on Main when I Dualbox? Or is that wishful thinking? (Pictures included) (Mac OSX)

Hey guys, I got my 2 Warlocks dualboxed side by side no prob IN Windowed Mode (Been playing for 2 hours). I am using Mac OSX & Clonekeys - they work perfect when I have both WoW accounts set up side by side on Windows Mode. I have one AESTHETIC question though. I like and am used to having FULL SCREEN MODE on my Main account (Command M on Mac). And I wanted to push my slave account to the side and have my Main account enter in FULL SCREEN MODE (Command M) But as soon as I do that, my slave account stops responding to my keystrokes.
EXAMPLE: CLONEKEYS WORKS GREAT IN WINDOWED MODE:

But how I want it (Full Screen Mode), Clonekey doesn't work at all on the Slave Account ;o(

(damnit, my gnome wife is only 4 and she ALREADY is giving me attitude!)
Is Windowed Mode the only option for for dual boxing & keyclone/clonekey? Do I have to play in Windowed Mode the whole time I dual box?
In order to enjoy FULL SCREEN MODE on my main, if I add a 2nd monitor to place the slave account on, perhaps, will that let me Full Screen my Main? Or is this what dual boxing is gonna be. Windowed mode FTW?

i could only ever get mine working on my macbookpro when i had them set as windows (i resized the main window to the screensize but still had it as a window) and was able to switch quite easily
edit: do a search for Clonedkeys - that is the update for clonekeys

Good to see you finally got boxing, mate.
I'm no expert on this, but as far as I know, boxing software needs to have windows to send commands to. When you make one of them full screen, then it looses it's hook to that window as it's no longer a window. I started out by playing with my main toon in windowed mode still, but made the window cover the screen, it wasn't long before I discovered it was more of a pain when trying to select quests etc :)

I am using an iMac with current software. I will test it again when I get home but I have used the main in full screen a lot and never lost track of the alt.
Still it might be something I think I am doing but not really doing.

I use run 4 WoW's on my MacBok using ClonedKeys.
I run my main full screen also. (I like it and find it improves performance)
I've never experienced this problem though so I'm no help. I just wanted to let you know that it works for me. You can do it!
*I use a fubar addon (SwitcherFu) to full screen my main. Hitting Command-M will send that to both and WoW's and full screen them both at the same time. That may be causing a problem but it's just a guess.

I found unmapping the M key on the alts cleared up my issues with maps appearing suddenly on their screen which could possibly interfere with their ability to accept quests or even attack.

Great idea. That happens to me all the time.
I've been tempted to do the same with the Esc key for the same reason.

I will try again, but please do let me know on here exactly how you are doing things if you have something special. I would really like to dualbox with my main in full screen and my slave either on a second monitor or minimized in the background. Full screen mode just makes things look so much better. And is sort of a dealbreaker for me with dualboxing if with 1 monitor (as my current setup is).

are you using clonekeys or clonedkeys? as clonedkeys is the later, more up to date version

You need to run it in windowed mode with the 'Maximize Screen' setting set, this makes the window full screen but when you move your cursor to the top the apple bar will pop up.
I'm fairly versed in multiboxing on a mac, so if you have any more questions, ask me. I'm actually currently working on improving the code of clonedkeys in order to get rid of the buffer delay lag issue. I suggest you get cloned keys instead of clonekeys, its much more updated and has more options. As of right now though, I do not box on my mac (well I do, but not under OS X, I use windows 7). The buffer error is just to much of a breaker for me (not being able to span, key presses not being passed through properly etc.)
The current version of clonedkeys was broken in 10.5.6 but here is a patched / fixed version of it.

Have fun multiboxing! :)

How can you all still dual box WoW on Mac? I used to, with clone keys, but after several months of exile I suddenly can't. I have MacOSX 10.5.6, that's the deal breaker I heard. I have pretty much tried everything: CloneKeys 0.2b, CloneKeys 0.4b and several patched versions I downloaded from forums, including D3K17's version.
What are you using?
