Star Trek Online

It seems that Cryptic is moving along very nicely with this game. Fans have been waiting a while for it and now that the game is in capable hands there is a little excitement going around. Does anyone think this game really looks like Eve Online though? I have friends who play Eve and it looks quite complicated and has a high learning curve. I can't help but wonder if Star Trek Online plans to compete against Eve in it's own backyard. Hopefully there's enough niche room for Star Trek Online.

I always told a friend of mine I'd have Ferengi sex with her if this game ever made it.. :O

Time to see how this has come along. I hope there is more to do in STO compared to Eve online, man that game bores me ;( too much station sitting.

The graphics look pretty awesome (though graphics alone don't make an MMO). The screen shots leave a lot of information to the imagination. I wish they'd post more info about the gameplay mechanics. (Similar to how WoW's website has information about classes and races). Some ship,rank, and faction info would be good. It doesn't have to be a GREAT game to sell well amoung the die-hard trekkers who are online playing games, but hopefully the game is done well enough to get a decently sized player base.
