Greetings,

I've started testing the use of meeting stones at instance entries as I'm playing Alliance with one 70 Hunter boosting four priests on a PvP realm.

The idea being : use my 70 Hunter to get to SM meeting stone and call for the 4 priests there, vs travelling around Undercity for all of them (the Priests being Stoned in Southshore for practical reasons).

So here I am with the 70 Hunter and 4 lvl 24 priests in Stormwind, trying to test the Meeting Stone idea on the Stockades one.

Every time I click on it, either with the 70 or a 24, I get this "You do not meet the level requirements of this meeting stone".

WoWwiki states Stockades as minimum level required 15 and recommended 23.

So the whole team should pass that test but it fails.

Any hint ?

Your above the level range for the instance and Blizzard restricts the stones to toons at the appropriate level. I think they did this to prevent the stones from being an easy way for characters to travel around the world.

Doh...

That would explain it and it plain sucks for us multi-boxers boosting lower alts, especially on PvP realms.

SM is a key instance for leveling but not fun for Alliance in terms of logistics ....

Thanks for the explanation.

Leave your alts at SM, Hearth one toon to SS, re-summon at Stone. Lather, rinse, repeat. The 70 can 100% mount-run. That's about the best way to do it.

You mean : the lvl 24 alts can summon a lvl 24 alt but not the 70 main ?

So I should handle inventory resell-disenchant-crafting based on that ?
And manage the 70 on its own ?

minimum level != recommended level

the meeting stones *used* to tell you the level range they were for. I'll never know why blizzard removed the tags (idiots in my opinion)

That info is still visible in the LFG Menu, I believe ("I" on the keyboard under default bindings).

@Taipan: Exactly. You won't accumulate rested as fast, but it's about the fastest way to empty inventory.

EDIT: Ooh, I just thought of something: 24 might be too low to use the Stone effectively. You might have to be 30 in order to do the summoning method I described above. Just because a character qualifies to enter the instance does not mean it qualifies to summon. It sucks majorly.

It sucks majorlyI verified it with my 20s, worked fine :) I ran my 70 there, summoned a 20 with RAF, summoned another 20 with RAF, then used them to power the stone for two more 20s

A couple of other temporary suggestions:

If you have a warlock on another account, leave him at the boosting point. I did this and could zoom off to town when I needed to.

Recruit a freind on the main account, sign up for a trial and create a level 1, take it there and leave it there. Don't do anything else with that account (well you can use this tactic to position summoning friends all over the place). Use that friend to RAF summon the 70 when needed.

Your boosted chars can hearth and get RAF summoned by their friend, you just have to wait 1 hour to swap to the other char.

In the whole time I boosted, I only ever took my main backwards and forwards, the boostees never left the instance - over the space of 3 weeks. They were all on 0% durability in level 1 gear by the time I finished SM at 40 and it was the first time they had gone to a town.

Also when you travel, you only need to take the 70 and two characters. It's much easier to keep them alive that way. Then when you get there, you summon the other two with RAF. I did this when I moved from SM to BRD, it's a long ride through Badlands and Searing Gorge.

You can't initiate a summon or summon a high level character for a low level meeting stone but you can initiate a summon with the lower level character and have the higer level click the portal. So you really only need to get one of your low level toons to the meeting stone along with your booster.

If you RAF you can also chain summon. I tested out the Lyceum in BRD by running my boosting toon (non linked) and another 70 on the vet account down to the bottom. Then summoned the low level RAF toon, switched on the vet account to the noob and summoned him down. I have gone all over the place using creative chain summoning. I also have a lock on my vet account so I can even more creative.

I also use chain summoning to handle vendoring. Hearth home sell/mail/train etc. Get summoned back. Rinse repeate per toon.

RAF rocks for so many reasons. I will be sad when I loose the summon bonus.
