Hi all,
What other good quest mods do you guys use other than Questhelper or Carbonite? I have been using Questhelper but all of a sudden it seems to be using allot more memory than before (I DL'd the latest version Yesterday and I could barely load 3 clients, didnt have much of a problem untill I grabed the newest version).
I looked into Carbonite and I just wanna stay away from any mod that has a fee (yes I know there is a free stripped down version).

I still do use Lightheaded and doublewide. What I want in a quest addon would be the HUD pointing to my closest objective and the mouseover mob info tooltip thing that tells you if a mob is associated with a quest and the progress all of your party on same quest.

Thanks!

I assume you're loading it on only 1 of your toons right?

Unfortunately I don't know of any other add-ons. However, the next best thing is to follow a guide such as wow-pro.com or wtbblue.com.

Otherwise, you will have to figure out what else to trim down so you can use Questhelper.

Best of luck.

Tomtom http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info7032-TomTom.html interfaces with Lightheaded for the arrow pointing towards whatever coords is listed in the lightheaded info. This will give ya atlest part of what you are looking for.

for questhelper, make sure you disable a lot of the features on it for your slaves. all you really need from your slaves are really quest progress, and thats it. the rest, like waypoints and stuff, can remain on the main account. if that doesnt solve your problem then i guess you will have to use the other addons suggested.

With questhelper what helps is going to yer other chars hitting the map button upper right hand corner click on questhelper button it'll reduce the amount of cpu/memory usage
when yeh switch back to yer lead it'll still get info on who needs what quest/items what not.

I always used nQuestLog with Lightheaded. Never had any issues with it.

Thank you all very much for your responses. Its all very good advice about quest helper and reducing settings on the slaves, advice I will be sure to follow. I actually found out what had changed that made my performance drop. I run all three clients from one folder so my settings are all the same. Usually I set my video settings to the lowest it can go on the slaves and a custom setting on the main with everything set to the lowest value and most fancy stuff off, except I set the view distance to its max. for some reason, the setting that I used on the main got used for all 3 clients the next time I stared them and I didnt notice that my slaves could see for that distance. Once I set the video settings back down, my performace went back to where it was. Thanks again for the advice on questhelper, I will try that and maybe see a little better performance now.

And now, after Blizzard's ToS update, Carbonite's full version is donation supported, and updatable through WowMatrix. I liked it paid, I like it even better donation supported.
