Chalk that up for a win/win for me at least i tried instead of just saying nah.

Hmm, gear is an issue as well.

I quad-boxed it at level 70 in PvP gear pretty easily without any problems. But hmm, had I been in crappy gear, probably wouldn't be as easy. :P

I boxed Onyxia with my shamans when I was fresh 80. Just put down 4 healing + fire resist totem, and spammed LB until she died.

I've 2-manned this with my 80 DPS DK and a tag-along paladin for heals. Fire resistance helps. It was a basic tank'n'spank operation for us.

Did you make it to phase two? When I kill her on my DK, I find that phase two is the hardest. If you don't keep dps on her in some form she will deep breath and it's a large chunk of damage to deal with as you are handling the "many whelps".

I tried to 5 box this back at 70, but I had a problem positioning my followers to not get tailswiped or cleaved, but also be close enough to heal. Having now done it solo at 80, I think the gear difference is a major factor. On my DK, she never hits hard enough to put me in danger, but at 70 you don't have the health pool to go as long between heals. Oh, and the fear is worse when you have all 5 to worry about since you have to make sure tehy get back in position too.

It's doable, just takes a lot of practice at 70 if you are going to box it. I never got her down boxing it though.

You can totally avoid deep breath by hugging the wall (just don't hug the wall with the eggs :) ). This way you'll get the random fireball aoe damage, but should be minimal compared to the deep breath.

I two-manned this the other day. I had my level 72 prot pally go in with a level 80 discipline priest. It took FOREVER but we did fine - even when we got feared into the eggs a few times. It was the most boring hour that I've spent in an instance in a long time. I think the big thing for my being able to deal with it having the crafted cobalt gear from northrend. My priest kept me up and I did my best to hold the aggro and do a little dps. If you can craft your whole team the level 70ish blue gear from Northrend you should be fine. What classes were you running in there with?
