Alright so I want to make a mage + other class via RAF boosting.
The problem I am having is that I could either boost the characters with a level 80 warrior on a non-linked account OR subscribe another account and boost them both with my level 80 pally.
What would you suggest? I mean I know having a pally for boosting is so awesome, I just don't know if I want to pay for 3 subscriptions per month just for the fact of having a a pally to boost.

Pay for 3 for 3 months. It's $42 (monthly fees) + $20 for Vanilla WoW + $25 for character transfer - $13 (30 free days given to Referring account). That's $74. For me it's an investment. If I make $10 an hour in my business that's 7.4 hours of work. The difference, for me, in leveling boosting with RAF is way more than 7.4 hours to 60. Also, if you hit 60 and have RAF time left level two other things you want. 60-70 is so quick now you can transfer your 3rd toon, inactive the new account, and 2 box to 70, then 80.
This is how I would roll.

My suggestion would be the same as Col's. I recently boosted two shamans on linked accounts with an 80 DK. As a first attempt it was insanely fast; 60 in under a week with enough bonus RAF gifting levels to bump one of my level 30 alts to 60 as well. That's hard to beat and my playtime is casual (read: not every day). After getting to level 10 I took them to SFK (pull the entire place in 3 runs), then SM Cathedral to 45 then UD Strath to 55. Doing Ramps from 55 to 60 was probably the fastest of the bunch at nearly 2k / per kill. It took maybe 3 hours.
Best of luck.

I have temporarily added a 6th account just so I could make use of RAF once again.
I wanted to have a high level shaman to solo with - it's now at 75.
I'm levelling two rogues with my kids at the moment. They started them yesterday morning.
With my 80 druid boosting we got to 22 insanely fast.
I'm alliance and would definitely recommend going to SFK instead of deadmines at 10.
It's a long run but the Level gain is so much quicker than Deadmines.
TIP: when you get your lowbies there create a level 1 and summon them to that location. Leave them parked there.
I have a 41 druid parked at lights hope chapel ready to summon the lowbies when they are ready. I must go back and station a level 1 at SFK.
I initially tried levelling my shaman without RAF - A few runs of stockades were enough to make me stop and get that extra account.

I done pretty much what Coltimar suggested.
I had an account with a level 80 warlock and another account that I'd been boosting a pally (non RAF) with. I decided to add another account to get the RAF bonus. So far I've levelled the following teams from 1-60:
- druid/rogue
- shaman/hunter
- priest/warrior (ok, not 60 yet...working on these at the moment)
and have gifted :
- the pally from 31 - 60
- a mage from 10 - 50
I've already transferred the shaman to my original account...and will be transferring the warrior and druid in a bit. The plan is to cancel the 3rd account when I'm finished.
My route from 1-60 is
- level both toons from 1-8 in durotar (happens after doing first quest in the troll village)....if you use a race that doesn't start in durotar, use the summon friend ability
- summon them to orgrimar and use my lvl 80 lock to boost through RFC...I do this till they hit lvl 10
- lvl 10 - 20 they're boosted through WC
- lvl 20 - 40 they're boosted through scarlet monestary
- lvl 40 - 45 they're boosted through zul farrak
- lvl 45 - 60 they're boosted through the dead side of stratholme (no pesky random skeleton spawns)
The first duo took around 1 day 3 hours game time. The second took 19 hours game time. I'd like to improve on that, but doubt it.
