Hi, this place is a great resource. I just found about about you guys and mutli-boxing in general. I have no idea this was possible! And it is def the sort of challenge that I like. I am what people consider a "hardcore-casual" wow player. I used to play a lot in 2007, but now RL allows me to do it only on weekends. So I got my gnome lock to lvl 80 and want to RECRUIT-A-FRIEND myself a new toon. I want to take on a dual-boxing challenge.

My 4 questions are... and forgive me if this was discussed in threads before, I just got here, so please be patient and kind with my nub help requests. I would love any advice or threads links if you have them specific to what works with a Demo Lock:

1). What is the best 2nd toon to lvl up with my Demo Lock 80? Can you give me the best class combos? Is it another Lock? As I am guessing for a newbie like me, having them use the same keys for the same spell might be easy. But I have never played another class before and this got me really excited to lvl a new toon now.

2). Arena any good with a Demo Lock and *insert other class here* dual-boxing?

3). Can I "grant a "free level" with RECRUIT-A-FRIEND to another toon my main toons account makes up to lvl 59? Just a question I been thinking of. Say I have a lvl 1 warrior who I create from scratch but don't play but would like to lvl him too through "gifting"? Is that possible? So I get an additional Tank lvled up on the side.

4). Will I be reported a lot? My realm MOK'NATHAL is pretty small and Alliance heavy. But Alliance has a rep for being a bit mean-spirited and everyone, practically, knows everyone, so gossip spreads. I usually get 1 daily insult on Alliance Mok'nathal. Yes, that bad. I once said hi to a DK, and he wrote back, "fuck off gnome". That mean-spirited. LOL.

Thank you for any help you can give. If you can answer just one of my requests, I think the main one I would love to hear about is #1, which class would work with my Demo lock.

First of all, Ill introduce myself, I am a 4 box team, shaman. My main subject is pvp, and i started boxing about 2 months ago. I started up a RAF 1 lvl 80 and 4 lvl 65's so far. I started with a lock lock lock team. This was very fun with a bunch of pets and dots everywhere. But I ran into a small problem at lvl 40ish. I was trying to do some pawning and i just kept dying and it was quite annoying. The reasons for this was because I could not heal, rez, just overall eww. So i restarted shamans which made a total of 4 people. Not gunna lie, this made the whole process fun, pawnege filled, and overall better.

BUT- in your case, because you are 2 boxing you will be getting other members to join your group to do instances. Locks are great when you are trying to 2 box, and especially when you are trying to learn how to mutliboxing you will want to stick with the same class till you learn about it. If you are looking to take on a challenge of mutliple classes the only viable class that i think is a priest, this being some 4-5 boxers use 4 locks and 1 priest. This takes out the annoying eliment I ran into about no heals. I would juggest doing this, because you will have intense buffs and generally alike spells.

To Start- Before you try and hop in on the 2 different class I would advise making 2 sets of mages (casters only to start). and learn how to do all the /focus /cast spells and just learn how to mutlibox, because it is a very different feel of play. Once you get the hang of it create a fresh character and start off on the macros and start, because its very annoying to not start fresh.

1. kinda answered it already

2. because there are 2 separate classes this is very tough in pvp, because of the quick reaction times that are needed. But if you are looking to work hard and maybe do about 1000 games then reset your team when ur ready, this is possible with a priest/lock (http://www.arenajunkies.com/rankings/2v2/Warlock/Priest/) highest priest/lock team is 2500 atm.. so its possible. But in terms of lock lock, there is no super high 1900+ that is showing, so i do not know.

3. say you have account 1( your 80) and you recruit account 2.
for every 2 lvls that your new account 2 gets... he can grant lvls to any character on account 1. but there are some rules that are required. The toon on account 2 must be higher than the number of lvls being granted.
for example- if your toon on account 2 is lvl 30, the highest lvl u can grant on account 1 is lvl 30. But at lvl 60, you will have 30 free lvls to grant, so this means that you would need another character lvled up or another RAF account... or 3 box..

4. you will not be reported alot if you do what I usually do. Is be nice to everyone.. They see me marching around with 4 guys, and i can fit one more so.. (all i do to lvl is isntance) so i let them tag along for free as long as they want. and they think its pretty cool.. hears a forum on this The value of being nice ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=19421&').. this is how multiboxers to be played.. people will clap and stuff at you not say omg! hack!. I have never gotten the hack thing.. other than "what spell is that lol"

hope that helps a bunch! keep me updated.. ill help you on macros and stuff!

Wubba, that's rockin info and fast response too! Thank you for that!!

Thanks for explaining RAF too. I forgot that I will only get to grant my main accounts alt 30 lvls. Well, that is still good though, that means I get to lvl a warrior to 30 with hardly any work, woot! I def want to consider as a MAIN 2nd account a DPS class as I think it would be a little easier than having a mellee with my MAIN accounts Demo Lock (who I am totally attached too, lol, eomtionally - love the gnomes, here :D ). But I see what you mean by not being able to heal myself - or selves, lol - once things get heavy. I sure need the advise I can get before I do all this.

Thank you for your help. I will be back here once I set up the 2nd account thru RAF. Totally looking forward to this.

Another idea for ur RAF. lvl up a guy to lvl 30.. then grant lvls to 60.. which is a better idea that 1-30, because that can be done in a couple of days..

for example, what i did, when i hit 60 on my alts i had 30 levelsx3 (equaling 90 total free lvls) but you can only lvl up to 60... cant make a free 80.. so what i did is i had a new guy lvled from 1-60 then another alt who i had who was lvl 30 lvled up to 60.. this is what I would do.. get a guy up to lvl 30.. the "slave" to 60 then grant the guy to 60.. then u have 3 guys woot!.

Np, on the info. Fun to help out, because I need it 2!

Well one thing that doesnt appear to have been mentioned is, you cant give yourself bonus through a main/alt, my understanding is they have to be two new characters. This is because you only receive the xp bonus if your "friend" account is nearby, might also have to be grouped; I may be wrong so if I am someone please correct me.

Im also fairly new to dualboxing, started about 3 weeks ago with a fresh Sham/Warr team it is definately tricky to play both classes effectively being seperate. As of now the warrior kills while the sham heals/assist thats about if for the shaman, have keys to drop certain sequences of totems etc if needed but for the most part I charge with warrior and sham follows behind in attack mode to assist. Currently 52 and it was easy the entire way, I probably could of been more efficient by skipping collection quest but it wasnt to bad, but a nuissance of course.

If you havent read the wiki be sure to triple-read it, great info in there I was able to figure it out nearly all on my own...
Few recomendations:
Keyclone, awesome software for dualboxing
Addons:
Jamba

I´ve been dualboxing for 6 months now, im playing balancedruid & firemage, easy playstyle for pve, you get burst damage, healing and conjured water. I tried pvp, but got pawned, wasnt used to different playstyle:P. I recently started up dual boxing with 2 warlocks, and leveling a third so i can triplebox later on.

My experience is that its really good to have heavy burst damage when u multibox, due to the fact that everything gets messy when your main toon die, and ofc, your "firepower" goes down. In pvp its easier to "press right buttons" , if u have similar kind of toons, when u get stressed.....

I played my chars from 1-60, then granted levels for some midlevel toons, so no i have 4x60, 1x80.

I am on the fence on which 2 new toons I should start from scratch. Eventually, BOTH will go on my 2nd "Slave" account as they will be support for my MAIN account Gnome Demo Warlock. From doing research on here so far, I am not sure yet which new lvl 1's to create....

MASTER + SLAVE
Warlock + Shadow Priest (then respec to my private healslave, yippie!)
Warlock + Healer Paly (another Healslave ;o) )
Warlock + Elemental Shamen
Mage + Mage (or Mage + any of the above other classes to shake things up perhaps)

I guess another question is, can a mage/warlock combo work well together? (That will give me portals and sheep as a bonus). The reason I am keen on making another Warlock in most of these combos is I have only played the Warlock class - Specifically Demo - since day 1 and know Demonology like the back of my hand. And the idea of 2 Demo Locks with FG's out and METAMORPHOSIS and Dual IMMULATION AURA cast sounds like soooooo much fun.

Anyone have experience with any of these combos? with the Lock being main and these other classes as Slave?

I´ve been leveling my druid/mage together from start because its a faster way to do that, getting xp all the time.

My plan is to have Demonwarlock / Firemage combo, from start i had my main, now warlock 80, so i could boost thru som low-midlevel instances, just for fun or gear. Warlock / Mage combo give me "slow capability" & good crowd control + burst damage, which is vital in pvp, and really nice in pve too. Then i have felguard ofc, for better increase in dps. Warlock as main, why not, depends on your playstyle, the slave will be "the nuke man" either way....

My "other" project is to level up 3 gnome warlocks, all demon spec, or different spec depending on pvp or pve. Its nice dps with 3 fg, and dot, and sb.... and easier to manage.

I think high dps is the right choice if u want to go for pvp, healer can be very nice in instance runs, raid and so. 2 warlocks, why not!!
