I love these guys more and more each day. I just dinged 70, so I'm doing Sethekk Halls for the first time with this team, and hit Darkweaver Syth. I didn't expect a problem with him, but I didn't realize how "not a problem" he'd end up being.
I started with the Forest of Doom as usual, then Starfire. He did his little summoning thing a little earlier than expected and I thought, "oh, right, forgot about the adds, crap." I did a reflexive Typhoon + Hurricane to get me to the next phase ... Well, treants plus Hurricane kill Darkweave Syth in about three seconds. He must've dropped through two phases of health so fast the incoming adds would have telefragged eachother.
The moral of the story: try druids once. They are completely silly in an awesome way.

Today's second awesome druid moment ... MURMUR'S DOWN! My pally + locks couldn't do it. My DK + mages couldn't do it! The owlfiends took him down, first try.
Postscript: while I was slapping my forehead, marveling at "you have earned the Achievement Shadow Labyrinth!", with my girlfriend standing over over my shoulder and admiring my victory ... from druid Tecuani comes a little parting gift from Murmur: SONIC BOOOOOOM! Flattens the party instantly. I can't think of a better ending.

5xboomkin or 3xboomkin + 1 bear + 1 tree?

Sounds like you run some weird setups there! :P
Holy paladin and locks? Voidwalkers tanking? Shouldnt be impossible but its harder then using a normal tank.
Death Knight and mages without a healer? :S

That's inspiring, thank you.
I've always wanted a team of those... even if it's just so I can farm for raven mounts 5x as much!
Maybe I'll give it a shot. I'm guessing you ran as 5 boomkin since they're "owlfiends"?

Sorry, I never remember to specify. I run five boomkins on this team. I don't even have my bear tank macros on a hotbar yet ... I used to, then switched over to Macaroon and didn't bother remaking them because the boomkins were exactly as nuclear as I needed.
The pally+locks team I'm talking about is a prot pally tank, two affliction locks, one destro lock and a holy priest. Despite lacking reliable CC, they rip things up in PvE ... but not nearly as well as five coordinated DPS. It's kind of sad, because I always felt so smug about doing the same content that five-shaman teams did, but with three different classes (and four specs). But now I see why the shaman teams became so standard. Massive DPS is a major thrill.

hmm
can you give me some informations about mana issues with the boomkins?
how long does it take to get them OOM?
before WOTLK it was more an OOMKIN than a BOOMKIN :-D

I always found Murmur to be WAY easier than the 2nd boss that does the Incite Chaos thing.

When running my moonkins solo mana is usually never a problem (in raids it's hard to go below 70% mana unless you're moonfire spamming). If you're finding out that mana is an issue you can go with a build that includes Intensity (resto tree, gives 30% of mana regen all the time, even when casting). If you're multiboxing with a pally (wisdom) and a shaman (mana spring) then your moonkins will be the last to run out of mana and you have innervate just in case (probably would be used on the shaman first, though... mana is not an issue anymore).

before WOTLK it was more an OOMKIN than a BOOMKIN :-DThey aren't particularly bad with mana. Boomkins en masse kill things *extremely fast for their mana consumption and I only need to drink after every third pull or so. So far I haven't run into a boss or pull so tough that I had to use mana pots or Innervate to finish (but of course I'm not raiding or doing heroics yet).
Blackheart only wiped me once, I think. The second time, I made sure to pop Starfall, Typhoon and the dreaded Treestorm, five Insect Swarms and Moonfires at the very start, and was able to kill him without any more deaths. I don't think I'll ever have as easy a time on Blackheart as I did with affliction warlocks, but this went all right. :)

*gg*
thx for the infos.
my 5xBOOOOOOOOOOOOOMkin team is currently just for fun. I love playing them.. always getting childish
while playing them (jumping around while spamming moonfire). But in common fights (spam of wrath) I'm
getting very fast out of mana. My gear is still crap cuz I've boosted them to level 50 through instances
without looting anything so they're still in lvl 1 gear with some greens so it's OK that they're OOM very fast.
I just wanted to know how a moonkin with some recent gear works because I'm looking forward to lvl 58+BC
so I can finally gear up and start questing with the crazy laserowls of death :)
As soon as dual-talent trees are in the game I'll spec one as a tank and one as a healer in the second specialisation
and try some instances...but meanwhile.. I'll just jump around spamming wrath and moonire... oh and do some quests ofc =)
