So here is the question to follow or not to follow.

Rogues have the potential to be the only class that doesn't need to worry about the clunky follow mode, due to shadow step.

Now I am lvling my rogue and i sure hope that when i git lvl 50 i can kiss my follow mode goodbye thanks to shadowstep, as this would line you up and have you stand all on one spot. We all know how fun it would be trying to target three stacked rogues.

As an added bonus this should give you some awsome mobility triple damage and the manuvrability of a single charcter and not having to worry if all the others are in melee range.

Now i wonder if anyone with a rogue squad has tried this and can comment on how well this lines up your rogues and then moving via broadcasting movement keys to all clients

Shadowstep is so OP. I have killed countless of plate wearers with that move and ambush. And yes ambush x3 can kill anyplate wearer your level.
I leveled up in sub. because of instant deaths to anyone.

But follow is still needed. it would be impossible to level without follow though because you simply cannot jump from one guy to the next guy the whole time while leveling. Thats just absurd to think you can.

Anyhow rogues, def. worth your time. Still a must need for follow though.

Oh did i mention in 3's its pretty much 3 v 2 cuz the leather druid or clothy priest drops like a rock! Hahaha

Sweet, while at least the three rogues stomp pretty hard :

I have the possibity of having a setup where one is follow mode and one is not.

The theory crafting behind this is the idea shadow step would make you all face the same direction and stand in the exact same spot. So you have this natural ability to straghten your rogues out. So as long as you didn't turn your guys via with mouse look you would all be on the same spot and be more a of a piss off the the enemy.

Have you tried out my theory and seen if its viable?

Also it would be more of a pvp than a pve thing anyhow, as you need something to target to straighten your guys out

I am glad to hear about the 3 vs 2 arena that sounds like mad fun, and I am glad to hear i am on the right path by choosing rogue fu 8o

Shadowstep will be an absolutey awesome opener but you would still need follow.

For PVP if you don't instakill th player you have shadowstepped behind, and haven't stunned them then they can run through you to get away.
Two of your guys are now facing the wrong way and will be doing zero damage.

You would need to tap follow to bring them in to line with you again.

Jamba follow strobing. Believe me, its invaluable when boxing melee teams. I swear by it now!

:edit: I always use /follow /assist in almost all my melee attack macros
I have 5x rogues, and was shadowstep for a long time, till I switched to Mutilate. I'm going to go back when I start playing them again though. My main concern with shadowstep was (this applies almost always just to mobs, not PVP) when activated on all characters at once, the first char that did the shadowstep/ambush would cause the target to insta-turn to face the attacker.
The problem comes (mostly with lag i think) on the alts, they sometimes ended up in front of the target with the main, and unable to perform the positional attack. It was just much easier to use the non positional attack (mutilate) and run through the target while spamming on all 5 characters.
The Mut nerf will make me go back to shadowstep, and on my alts I'll probably do a castsequence for the opening attack that consists of: /castsequence ,shadowstep, ambush.
The first comma will give me a split second delay for the mob to be in the correct position as the alts each come in for the attack. The main will always be using cheapshot for an opener on my chars.

Hmm thanks for the heads up about pve, that itself could pose some problems allright. While it tells me shadowstep is better for pvp, i need to focus wahts best on pve. Although its kinda of funny having a mob sandwiched between rogues as you just keep hitting back stab and the mob keeps turning around leaving its self open for more backstabs
