Just some random thoughts on us starting up raiding. I don't think any of this is a problem and I think most people agree with this, but I still want to get it out there.

I don't want people excluded. I'd rather have more people with fewer characters than few people with more characters. This has nothing to do with the difficulty of bringing many characters, I just don't want anyone who wants to go left out if it's avoidable.
I don't want to see a strict schedule. Maybe minor benefits like sarth's bag to people who constantly make raids but I don't want to see people who only make it sometimes excluded.
If we get to the point where we need to start cutting people because we have too many then we have enough people to run 2 raids without cutting anyone.(unless we have a tank/healer issue...) I think pretty soon we will have enough tanks and healers to make two 10-man groups, just not at the same time.
I don't mind playing with bad players, as long as you aren't completely retarded. Sham using rank 1 earth shield is a silly mistake that we can make fun of forever. Someone who insists that rank 1 earth shield is what you should use is a problem. I haven't run into a problem like that with anyone in the guild yet, and I doubt I will. Mistakes or misunderstandings are always forgivable/fixable.
Sometimes we might have to have someone bring less characters or change their role in a fight if they can't handle it, and I don't want someone taking this as a "you're dumb, gtfo" or something like that.
I think we should use master looter, not because of any ninjaing, but because it's easier to grab emblems without accidentally looting something you shouldn't. We also don't have to deal with a roll box and timer.

My thoughts on naxx fights:

Anub - Easilly doable. Add tank needs to be on the ball with little spiders though.
Faerlina - Easy with a DK tank. Even easier with enough gear to tank the enrages.
Maexxna - Might have to limit people to 2 characters due to random forced movement.

Noth - Just need to be on curses. Tank has to be paying attention.
Helgan - Free if you don't lag. It's doable with like 4 characters so worst case half the raid dies and everyone plays one char.
Loatheb - Probably easier for boxers than gimps.

Razuvious - Easy. Worst case we need 2 people playing 1 char. Communication is key between tanks.
Gothik - Free epics.
Four horsemen - We're screwed unless we have enough gear for the nuke thane strat, in which case we just might need a couple solo players.

Patch - Just a gear check. Straight tank+spank past that. Honestly I'm more concerned about the slime trash before him.
Grobbulus - We're in trouble. Everyone playing multiple characters needs to have REALLY good multi-tasking. One person can easily wipe the raid here.
Gluth - We just need one person who can kite the adds and we can probably do this.
Thaddius - You're either turning half your keyboard into every combination of run forward and turn for every character combination or you're playing 2 chars max. Tanks need to be on the ball and healers might need to do some extra macroing for the first part but other than that it should be doable, but will test anyone who's boxing.

Sapphiron - Get your spread out macro ready. Should be doable once we have proper gear.
Kel - Once everyone can avoid void zones this might be doable. There's a lot of things to worry about but aside from possibly having tanks+healers go solo I don't think there are any major issues a spread out macro + gear can't solve.

Honestly, until I feel 100% on all fights I wouldnt want to bring multiple toons unless I had 2 dps classes. Otherwise I would either bring my tank or my healer. Starting out I think it will help me and the raid most if I focus on 1 job. We should have enough people to run multiple groups. Getting started is going to be the hard part. We all log in at different times. Also, our GM lives on the other side of the world! 8o

Yeah, it was kind of fun trying a few weeks ago, but me trying to main tank, main heal (only specced healer), and DPS was just too complex.

I think if we rejig what we bring a bit, have more than four of us total, and rely on the significant upgrades in gear I (and the rest of you) have gotten over the last few weeks, we should be in good shape.

As far as times go, I'm usually good from 4-8 PM server time most weeknights and from 7 AM - 4 PM most Saturdays. I have 10 toons that are Naxx ready, so lots of flexibility as to who I bring.

We just downed voa10 with 4 people.(me, sham, baltic/merurio, and a pug friend healer type of mine) Two warrior shards dropped.(T.T)

Thursday/Friday, 6pm(server/EST), bosses going down. Be on or the bosses will drop what you want which will get sharded.

Tues means new VOA. I will hold out on doing it with my toons until we see if everyone wants to run it.

Yea, level 1 earth shield. :) Respec'd to restro and didn't even realize i had to get new training. duh!

As far as raiding goes, something quick like the one we actually finished the other day is cool during the week if I have time and am game for anything on the weekend between about 6AM and 7PM server time.

I was actually super excited when we downed that boss. I kinda thought we were a long ways away on being able to actually kill something other than trash and it was a bit disheartening. My gear is a bit better now than when we first started. And Z has a lot more HP now. That helps I guess.

Lets try and organise another attempt this weekend - will start an availability thread to see if I can work out a time that suits all...

Cheers,
