So I'm level 30 Alliance now (5-toons on PVP server).

I usually do not gank unless I see another ally getting beat on. I'm usually not outside in the world as I running instances 95% of the time. 5% is just running to the instance or talking to instance quest givers...

With same-level Hordes, half the time, they give me a wide girth when they seem other... the other half, they decide to attack, call a buddy or two and they die, or I die...

With level 60+ (they have epic land mounts), they gank and kill the whole team like nothing about 95% of the time. The 5%, they mind their own business.

I leveled up a 2nd toon (Rogue) solo to level 63 a couple of months ago (before my 5-team) and haven't been getting ganked as much... especially when 100% of the time leveling was outside.

My 5-team are getting ganked because they are very noticeable.

I'm slowly getting annoyed so I'm at the point where I will start ganking... but at the same time don't want to have more attention drawn to me.

A quick rule to leveling up as fast as possible on a PvP server is to simply ignore it. If you get attacked sometimes it is even better to just sit there and die even if there is a chance you can win because they have no reason to stick around afterwards. They now have nothing to prove.

I applied this method until I was high enough level to take out 70's which was lvl 60. From then on I still left everyone alone, simply due to not wanting frustrated players tailing me throughout the zone.

Even at 70 I apply the same conduct, if there is less than 3 players or they are not even 70 I won't bother. There is no challenge, the outcome is already known. Pretty much everyone on my server leaves me alone, even 10+ so they can save the embarrassment of getting stomped.

Last night on Mag was interesting, and I need to upload the pictures still. I was in the Alterac Mountains just running some quick quests, and some alliance rogues around my level tried to ambush me, so I of course AE them to nothing, and proceed to carry on. So I'm finished with my last quest and head to TM when out of nowhere five alliance from some gay ass french canadian guild (no offense to french canadians) decided to kill me and camp me. Now here is the great thing about being a member of <The Zerg> within minutes, and I mean mere minutes Oathbreaker was on the scene cleaning house, all but one mage scattered and he thought it was fun to kill me with AE even with Oathbreaker there. Needless to say, up until that point, I haven't been killing Alliance unless they kill me, now its Red = Dead. Idc how high or how low, Alliance on Mag = Dead all because of some french canadians.

My 3/4 Shammy team gets camped. A lot.

I took down a 70 Warlock once (I think the guy was just stupid), but overall I just get mowed down in the 40/50 level range. Lots of rogues will one shot my 50s. Its pretty bad.

I just hearth out and go quest somewhere else. When I hit a high enough level to consistantly kill 70s, I'm ganking everyone I can. Payback is a bitch.

The cool thing about shammies is, if you get a 70 to "defend" you, put them in the shammy group and just spam grounding totem. They're near invincible.

I guess it's best to just ignore it and move on as quickly as possible.

When I was going from Southshore to SFK, there was a group of 3 similiar level killing mobs.

I left them along and moved on because I was excited to see RFK for the first time. Well, they caught up to me and did their best to kill us all.

It was a hunter, priest and mage.

Eventually killed all 3. After rezzing 2 of my mages, they spawned back up and tried again. Killed them again. Rezzed 1 or 2 toons. Mana and healthed up and started heading to SFK.

I'm just glad I have a shaman and paladin to be able to rez. And now that my Shaman, "Reincarnation" is going to help a lot. :)

3 nights ago, I was in Barrens going from Ratchet to RFK. On the way there, a level 60+ ganked and killed everyone. The graveyard was closer to RFK, so I just took the rez sickness and moved on down.

Another horde about 3 levels below me, noticed that we all had rez sickness and decided to attack one of them. Luckily, he did an aoe which triggered the rest of my team so that they can attacked, and we burned him down.

It just seems like almost every night I play (between 1:00 - 4:00 AM server time), there's some clown horde that decides to gank.

Playing on a PvP server and complaining about getting ganked is like sleeping with pigs and complaining that you got mud all over you.

That's why I level in instances. Pretty good xp, and don't have to deal with gankers, gawkers, and any other a-holes. And no stinking collection quests!

After 63 or so, I'll probably venture outside the dungeons more often. I'm getting 50k/hr for now, it ain't bad.

My personal take on it, is I am giving the gift of PVP. Why else would someone roll on a PVP server?

I tend to attack every red name I get the opportunity to, & highly suggest others do it as well.

I don't chose to corpse camp, or do stupid emotes, just kill & move on.

Nothing was more fun, than 1shotting a 70 on an Epic flyer when my team was 60 & watching them not release & target each of my guys trying to figure out what the #()$! just happend to them.

I don't mind the "regular" amount of ganking.

I leveled a hunter 1-70 and a rogue 1-63 solo with no instances on the same server. Able to get ganked 90% of the time that's been played.

My little trek from the inn to the instance (which is about 15 mins at most) brings on ganking that is much more then running solo with my 2 previous toons.

The other difference is that with my hunter and rogue, I was leveling them all day, during prime time and such.

With my 5-box, I play at around 1:00 AM to 4:00 AM, and still, the ganking is quite higher then the norm.

I'm just commenting that my 15 minutes trek from the inn to the instance at 1:00 AM, receives a lot more ganking compared to when I leveled my 2 toons who have been questing in contested areas around 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM.

That's what I've been doing. :) Just going through some areas brings on the gankage.

I'll make another 5 team after this one for PVP. :)

On the way to which instances? I would have thought that BC took most of the high levels away from Azeroth and old world instances.

Most of the chars I leveled got ganked in the usual places like STV (especially when ZG was all the rage) and TM/SS. Then the occasional Barrens raid, but Barrens is non-contested if I am not mistaken.

If I didn't want to be ganked all the time I usually went to the more quiet zones like Desolace and Badlands and Swamp of Sorrows etc. The path less travelled so to speak.

I killed my first 70 yesterday, coming out of ZF with my 5 shaman (1 70 4 49 at the time) pop EM and just spam LB/ES and it was so funny, he just turned around, jumped and died in mid air.

I did laugh my face off at that.

About ganking/ganked. Hey, 2 things, if you rolled on a PvP server, it means just that. 2nd, most people roll 5 toons to melt faces, so just do that. :)

When I first started playing WoW I lived on a PvP server, I'm quite fond of world PvP and I did enjoy it for a long while.

However once I hit 35ish and STV I spent more time dead than alive. Mostly from level 60s ganking.

Now I play entirely on PvE, I get as much PvP as I want either in Outlands or in BGs (not tried arena yet) and can level where I want in peace. :)

So:
PvP is good.
Ganking is bad.
