I'm trying to make it so that when I hit left alt on the keyboard of my PC it sends that signal to my laptop. I want to use Ventrilo on the laptop while playing games on the PC. I'm trying to set up keyclone and can't get it to work correctly, it recognises the computer and makes a clicking noise when I use synergy to mouse over Ventrilo on the laptop and press the button but I need it to work ALWAYS when I press it, when in games on the PC. I can't get it to let me use Left Alt either, had to use another key but that's not the big issue really.

Anyone know how to make it so the key clones without any difficulty regardless of what window I'm in on the PC, and if possible how to stop the clicky noise when I press the button. If there's another program that would be better for this than keyclone let me know. Thanks.

Just to clarify, you are clicking your Vent hotkey on machine 1, but Vent is run on machine 2, correct? Do you use Alt for anything else? In conjunction with any other keystrokes?

Interesting idea, I might try this tonight, I would like to offload this process to another machine to see if it helps performance on my main machine.

Without having the documentation or software in front of me, I think I would add Ventrilo to my startup list on Keyclone on Machine 2, and try to apply a whitelist to that app that only includes the hotkey. I'll report back tonight.

?(

this is a new one on me.

hmm... i'm not sure this would work as intended. vent hooks into the keyboard for push-to-talk, and i don't think keyclone will route the message from the other machine to where vent would pick it up.

if you get it working, please let me know what you had to do.
