So I am in the process of making a new computer.

I got 2x e-GeForce 8600 GTS Superclocked 512mb Graphics cards. I was wondering if I can get by useing a 500w Power Supply. I really dont want to have to go and buy a new one. Well at least not at the moment. If it does not work would say a 600 even a 750 get me by?

Thanks.

I run a 1000 watt PS but use 3x 8800 GTX cards, quad core, multiple hds (which use little other than spin up), etc. Idle it PULLS 450 or so. With 8600s and nothing absurd, you are fine.

You could Get away with it. But I find it always pays dividends to have a little extra. You have to account for usb/firewire devices you'll be plugging in, etc.

Thanks guys. Yeah I plan on just useing my current HD, I just really needed and wanted to buy the Mobo, processor, and memory. I had everything else... But I really want to get in the groove with Quad Boxing.

I think Ill cut back on the fans also. I use one of those small tower desk fans to keep my comp extra cool. Seems to be working better then the fans I have in ATM.

But thanks again, hopefully it works well.

USB draws so little power, if that pushes you over the limit.......
