Recently started 3boxing EQ2 (From the same computer) without any software help (Zerk/Fury/Dirge). I'm not having a horribly hard time doing this, but I certainly don't believe I'm maximizing every characters potential. I was lead to this forum from some google searches. I've spent the last hour reading here, the wealth of information gets a bit confusing.

Right now I guess I'm interested in Keyclone and Innerspace (I've read much about Innerspace and the TOS here, I'm aware of the danger). Are these 2 the top boxing utilities for EQ2? Could i be directed to some "How to" guides or set-up guides for using these programs? Are there any other programs I should be looking to? I'm more concerned with leveling and combat, not interested in harvesting/crafting at all. Any general information or tips would be much appreciated. I have 0 experience in running any kind of boxing utility. I'm a complete newb, but I find myself to be pretty literate in things computer related.

[edited out a few questions, as I found answers from a few more forum searches]

I would use keyclone. It will default to auto add wow clients, but you can change that with a moments work.

Hi Teren - and welcome to EQ2 boxing

A guide which you may find helpful is this one ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&postID=48859') - found in the EQ2 wiki attached to this forum - perhaps a few of the other guys who software box would be willing to part with some extra info for Teran? (I personally am a 6 x vetra boxer so honestly can't give you advice re software)

Now - as per the wiki - it's pretty slim so don't go expecting a bucket load of info - my fellow EQ2'rs and I tend to just play vs record our momentous achievements and insight in the wiki /sarcasm off ;)

3 x EQ2s on the same PC? Wow - your FPS must be a 'tad' low on some of the clones

As for tips:
- well, it really depends if you want to maximise AAs or just get to cap and worry 'bout AAs later
- if your just after the levels, I highly recommend heroic dungeons, have adventure exp on and just pwn the place for a few hours - good chance you know the places I mean, but just in case, places like WC -> BB -> FG -> SH -> CBK - > RE etc etc etc - good source of a dungeon listing is via the EQ2 wikia ('http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Zones_By_Level')
- each of these dungeons should easily get you a few lvls per pwn session then just simply move onto the next one - this is also a good way to get a few coins together as there's a good chance you'll end up with a fair few masters

If your after both AAs AND adventure levels - well then things really slow down. I can't speak for other players but I personally lock at lvl 10 and just do 'everything' (within reason). The route I tend to follow is TD to 10 (choko island), lock adventure exp, then goro, the start of mok, darklight, back to mok to finish off the birds upstairs etc etc - it's slow but I tend to end up with AAs > adventure exp by lvl 20, from then on it's just doing whatever turns me on. Personally, I do find commons and Ant to be an incredible bore so I tend to skip those, as well as Nek (hated that zone since release!) - anywhere else is pretty much open though. Using this method, I DO remain locked in heroic dungeons mainly just going in there to whack names and grab disco then bail.

This locking approach tends to work well till about lvl 32ish where quests start to get a bit thin so I unlock around this level. I honestly would not remain locked after say 35 as you'll end up in the situation where your AAs are capped at 100 and you're not lvl 60 yet - i.e., you just waste a whole herd of AAs (yes, I have done that several times before) - so it's a good idea to keep an idea of how many AAs per adv level your are gaining to ensure you don't go over 100AA at 60.

TBTH - In the past, I have 'burned/PLd' the odd char from 0 - 80 and whilst they don't end up with handfuls of AAs, they get enough to give you a 'reasonable' AA set without nerfing yourself too much

As per your choice of chars - nearly have one of everything now and can honestly say you'll enjoy the zerk and dirge - but - TBTH and only IMHO, I personally found the fury to be a total SUCK - I used it as a DPSr and tbh, the dmg out of my fury was just p!ss-poor (fully adp3's, adv sharded with class fable) - I found a melee specc'd warden to give me far more enjoyment and far better heals but that just could be my playstyle too - least you can flip if you get tired of it

Good luck and happy adventuring in EQ2 land Teran

Thanks for the reply. As for EQ2, I've been playing for years, but I only recently got addicted to boxing. Leveling concerns I got covered ^_^

I'm running a quad core with 8GB of ram and 1GB Nvidia. I run all 3 instances on balanced and I notice no difference in frame rate compared to playing simply 1 char on balanced.

As far as what I want to do? Nothing fancy. I simply want to be able to tone down on the tedious alt+tab + tab constantly to switch between 3 boxes. I'd like to be able to cast some of my hot keys on characters 2 and 3 from Character 1's window. That's it really. If I could /follow, /stop, auto attack, and cast some hotkeys without having to alt-tab repeatedly, I'd be in heaven.

If I could /follow, /stop, auto attack, and cast some hotkeys without having to alt-tab repeatedly, I'd be in heaven. To do this, you'll need Keyclone & Inner Space. I've already talked to a GM and a Guide about my 6-boxing antics... like pulling full rooms of ^ ^ ^ & ^ ^ mobs and tear them apart (temple room in CT), only to find out some PUG was camping the room on the other side and /petitioned me as a BOT.

As per both the GM & Guide, as long as i'm physically in front of my computer while my toons are 'doing something' (fighting, crafting, whatever), I am not violating the TOS by using Keyclone & Innerspace. If, however, I were to launch an auto-fight or auto-gather script and goto sleep, then they would Ban me, just like anyone else.

Now, anyone who thinks you can 'bot up' a multi-box team is smoking crack. Even with Keyclone & Innerspace, it takes some work keeping your team together and on the right page at all times. If anyone figures out howto Bot Up a multi-box team in EQ2, they'll make serious $$ as a gold farmer. But i digress...

I also run a 6-box team and listened to everything Noxxy has ever written on here to help me (he's done this far longer than i). I also agree that Fury is just weak DPS. Melee spec'd Warden = Boxing Love. If you add more accounts, add in a Templar... With a Templar & Warden, it's quite hard to die. I run two teams:
Guardian, Defiler, Templar, Dirge, Coercer, Warlock = nothing can kill it, but it takes forever to kill a mob
Paladin, Warden, Troubador, Illusionist, Conjuror, Wizard = you can kill any single target in seconds, before it touches the group.
I run the Guardian group as my 'main' in RoK & TSO. I run the Paladin group to have fun and farm named/dungeons.

I also run all 6 accounts on 1 system (Quad Core, 8gb memory, 4tb raid5, two 4870). 5 EQ2 windows run fine.. for whatever reason, when I open #6, my FPS drop... Memory usage is still ~ 6.5gb, and video memory still has over a gig free. Currently, I use Innerspace to lock down FPS on my background windows to 13fps and lock my 'active' window to 30fps. In this mode, everything runs fine.

g'luck, and let us know if you figure out anything new!

Thanks Asgradth, 6boxing is pretty impressive.

I've gotten the hang of 3boxing with Innerspace and Keyclone, though I feel I'm barely tapping the true potential of the 2 programs. What I do currently, is disable the Number Keypad for Char1, and use the Number Keypad as my hotkeys for C2 and C3, so I don't have to swtich between screens. I Create a whitelist in Keyclone to only copy buttons I push on the Number Keypad, becaue I couldn't figure out how to get C2 and C3 to do things without making C1 do something. I'm still very knew an unknowledgable about KC and IS.

When I read guides on how to use the two here, it seems like a few steps are always missing, or the writer assumes the reader has some basic knowledge first, so I always end up getting confused. Really not sure what all else these 2 programs can do.

If your using innerspace why do you need keyclone? use isboxer instead way better then keyclone and if your not using isboxer what do you use innerspace for in your setup?
