View Full Version : I... I can't alt any more!

I just can't seem to do it. Every time I start a new group, I inevitably run in to that Deja vu feeling of having run thoses quests 1000 times before, and that I'd rather be off working with my old characters, actually advancing them isntead of trying something new. I guess on the one hand its good to be focused on one thing, but on the other, I can't seem to try anything new without dropping tons of time in to getting the alts up to the point of being able to just play with them and test drive them.
Maybe its the fact that I only have about 20 hours of play time a week now and prospecting has never really payed off for me.

wow.. 20 hrs a week is a lot of playtime. lol. I think I have maybe 12-14. and that is adding in 2 nights a week for raiding. 4 hrs.. so 4 free hours to play my alts when I am not raiding ugh. I wish I had the same amount of time to play as you did. Maybe then i could get my alts somewhere outside of HFP.

I don't see what the problem is... Alts are fine and all that but doing the same content 30, 40, 50 times in a row...whats the point? If its not fun why do it? Don't be sad about not wanting to do it for the 10th time, sane people generally don't want to do the exact same thing 10 times in a row.
Just go play your highest team and actually experience something new :)

I don't mind running most of the content over again, its more of a "its going to take HOW long to get these guys up?" issue. I mean, there's some great content 1-60 and 60-70, so I don't mind running it more than once, but there's this feeling that only the last level is what is really relevant, so while some of this older content can be fun, a good portion of the meaning behind a new team is "You just set yourself back X months".

I kind of feel the same way. With all the groups I have been leveling up, I am getting burned out on the low level content, but I know I can only go so far, eventually running out of classes to level up, which I will then tackle the 60-70, and 70-80.

I know the feeling.
I used to love leveling alts, priest + warlocks, healer + hunters, etc.
several of these alt teams would have been wonderful in AV but PvP just isn't what I remember it.
my guild used to LOVE running A/V but we only seem to do a few WG together.
since PvP is kind of broken then I would want to do heroics with them but these teams can't do heroics since they require a tank. ( at least they don't seem nearly as viable anymore ).
it almost seem pointless to level any alt team if you can't see value in them at 80.
I guess having the option to create different teaming setups ( like tank, healer, loc, mage, hunter ) or something like that...

I only level new characters if I think it would be a benefit to my main group. I don't know why you'd even want to force yourself. Even in the case of RAF that will expire, what are the chances you'll ever level all those characters again once they're 60?

Well, its not something I don't want to play. I WANT to give 10 DKs a whirl, Ijust don't have the time to level them to the point of relevance.

If you have one big bad 80 on your account there really is no reason to do questing in Azeroth.
I gained levels so quickly it really wasn't a chore at all.
