Okay, I have looked through the forums extensively, and I may be overthinking this, so please bear with me.

I had a 4 box team of 2 mages and 2 shammies, and by the time I hit 60, I had a seriously cool system going thanks to the posts here. I am powerlevelling a Pally, and figured, why make life difficult, I will just run with another pally.

I'm trying to keep it simple, and basically putting attacks I want to use into the same slots. What's killing me is targetting. Right now, my main targets, and the alt has it on focus. So I hit a key bound to a simple /assist focus macro. The problem is that sometimes the alt doesn't take the mains target, and then when I hit an attack key, the alt is hitting the mob closest to it instead of the target of the main (alts focus). Hope that didn't confuse you.

Is there a simple way to ensure that I can set the main as the alts focus, then use assist focus to set the alts target without it failing to pick up the correct target?

I have a macro for setting the focus on the alt, that's easy. It's just combat that is tripping me up, and I don't know why. I just want the 2 pallys to go running through the zones judging and bashing the same mob at the same time....

If you're trying to dual-box melee, then you're not keeping it simple :)

I don't know the answer to your question, but are you sure the second pally is in melee range of the primary target? Can you post your exact macros?

[target=focustarget] is a lot simplier than /assist

Thanks El. When I macro that, will it have the slash in front of it? As in...

/[target= focustarget]

Sorry to sound so stupid, it's been a few months and after building up some complex macros, now the simple is eluding me.

(and yes, dammit I was forgetting there is no space between focus and target when I tried that, lol)

Well, apart from the obvious issue of keeping them both facing the mob and in range of it, it isn't too bad, one is basically just there to boost XP gains...I'm not really tackling quests and mobs that require 2 people....

no, its basically a conditional.

so...
basic layout:

/cast [conditions] spell

/cast [target=focustarget, harm, nodead] Judgement of Wisdom

your command is cast.
your conditions are: if your focus target is harful and not dead.
your spell is Judgement of Wisdom (on your focus target)

note, this will not cause your pally to change targets usually (or any other class to change targets), unless (1) the spell starts the auto attack. then your pally will change targets automatically and begin autoattacking, and (2) the spell is a channeled spell like Mind Flay or Drain Life.

Okay, cool, that was what I couldn't remember right. I was hitting a key to target, then just hitting a judgment or autoattack key. I've been trying to avoid writing a complete target/cast macro for every spell.

it takes me about 30 seconds or 1 minute to think up a macro and make it.
it takes me 1/2 a second to press tab, wait half a second to press /assist, and then about 1/4 second to press the spell.
multiply that by 100,000 for the life of your alt, give or take 20k, just guessing, and that's how much time you're spending targeting/assisting/casting.
with the targetfocus method, take out that 1/2 second you wait to assist. its a longer wait if your latency sucks.
