Over the last couple of months I've progressed from dual-boxing, to 3-boxing then the other night I thought what the hell, I may aswell see if my laptop can handle 5!

So I signed up 2 trial accounts, changed a few settings, sorted out maximizer and here's the end result ;)

Comp Specs:

Core 2 Duo 2.0Ghz
2GB RAM
8600GT-M
Windows Vista Ultimate

main : 1280x800 medium/medium-low settings
secondaries : 640x512 low settings, sound off

maxfps = 60
maxfpsbk = 15

I get an average of 55-60fps on the selected window

the black bits are caused by the different resolutions of the monitors and the way i've set up my monitor positioning in windows( so the mouse moves from one monitor to the next without jumping upwards or downwards) The black parts are not actually visible ;)

And my ping isn't usually that high , I usually get 80-180ms on that server

(Will sort out a new, better quality pic soon, just imagine 4 windows on the monitor instead of 2 for now! :p )

dont stand your xbox up like that the tray is really badly made and will give you rings on your disks, i was constantly takeing xboxs back saying they mark the games, 4th xbox now. New guy at the shop said try laying it down flat and its been problem solved. So into guitar hero atm, yellow button is already breaking in 4 days :(

nice little set up :)

How do you do that?

I tried setting up 3 screens on my machine, main at 1280x512 and 2 clones at 640x512.
I got the clones set to lowest video settings and no sound and the main to medium video settings.
I get around 5-6 fps :(

So I sure would like to know your secret :)

Horizontally Span your Desktop opposed to "Dual view"

normally when i'm using it (mainly when friends come round) it's downstairs lying on it's side and plugged into my projector/hifi anyway xD . Haven't had any problems with it yet in the few months i've had it.

Umm, based on the resolutions i assume you're wanting 3 windows on one 1280x1024 monitor? What're your comp's specs?
If your using vista, setting the desktop to windows classic theme makes quite a difference.

The only other things i've done are these lines in my config.wtf:
SET fpsmax = "60"
SET fpsmaxbk = "15"
SET trillinear = "0"

I have my nvidia control panel thing set to performance and multiple-display performance mode on. I also have vertical sync turned off (in WoW and in my nvidia control panel), but that's just down to personal preference really as I don't like the bit of mouselook lag i get with vsync on.

Sorry I forgot my specs :?

2.4 GHz Quad Core
4GB RAM
Geforce 8600GT gfx card with 512MB
I'm running XP 64-bit

You were correct about the 3 windows on a 1280x1024 monitor, I don't have the room for a second screen (Unless I place it in another room :D)

Turns out it has something to do with all the wows on a single screen.
Last night I 'borrowed' my dad's screen and set it up like this:

Main on first screen 1280x1024, clones on 2nd screen 2x 1280x512

And I got around 40-45 fps on the clones and 50+ fps on my main. (Haven't taken the group to a city, so I hope it will not be too bad)

Also setting the fpsmax and fpsmaxbk doesn't seem to have any effect.

My bad, it's maxfps and maxfpsbk.

Though with your setup I don't see much need for it ;)

hxc, I'm curious to know how these run in a city. Performance wise I mean :)

Hmm, i'll fiddle around with maximizer myself.. never could get it to work.

in orgrimmar the performance isn't great :P I have to stop-start every 30-feet or so for everyone to catch up/load all the people in orgrimmar, otherwise i'll lose a couple of followers here and there.

The performance in Ironforge is a fair amount better.

i think most cities are pretty good, but the way Storm Wind and Undercity are layed out they are defently the worst ones to navigate people around.

lots of tight corners.

i've not had a problem with either undercity or stormwind, only really orgrimmar due to freezing/lagging :p
