Hello everyone,
I am new to this scene and am still in the process of reading and thinking this through.

I have two WoW accounts, and a PC that is more than capable of running two instances of WoW.

I've downloaded Jamba, and Hotkeynet, and installed both.

Last but not least I've created two draenai, a shaman and a warrior. I have not yet configured Jamba, but I think I got Hotkeynet up and running correctly.

I've been thinking through how to do this, and I'm not sure I've quite got down what I want to know before I start. If I understand this whole thing in principle...

1. Group together the two toons.
2. Makes sure I have appropriate mappings for some basic actions for each toon. The warrior has 1 mapped to attack, and 2 mapped to the draenai racial. The shammy has 1 mapped to attack and 2 mapped to racial and 3 mapped to heal focus (and I've got to figure out how to auto set the shammy's focus to the warrior).
3. Then I take quests, swapping between instances if necessary to take quests that aren't shareable.
4. Fight the mobs with the warrior and using the appropriate mappings. So if we get to a mob I hit 1 and both instances of wow receive a 1 which is "attack target" on the warrior and "attack target of focus" or something on the shammy.

Is this right in principle?
Am I even close?

Also are those two classes a mistake? It seems they'd complement each other well, but I havne't played either class to any degree so I'm not sure.

Any advice or tips are appreciated.

You're definitely on the right track. I'm sure a shaman & warrior will work well together. There are arguments for different class combinations, but those really depend on your goals. If shammy/warrior it what allows you to have the most fun, then definitely go for it!

you should be fine with this combination.
i would suggest trying to map the first six buttons to your warrior and give him the most real estate.
give some totems and attacks for the shammy on four buttons. give the shammy a follow/focus all in one button. and finally, give the shammy a heal button.
you should be all set. this is two boxing, so use the warrior the most with the shammy for heals, dps and buffs.

good luck!

Pre wotlk i was doing arms sword spec warrior + resto shaman. With the old windfury totem it was a pretty amazing burst. But now the windfury totem is totally different and so is arms spec. the combo still works well! it's like having a pocket healer with you all the time, every warrior should come with one by default. A great pair.
