So I have multiboxed in the past. Quit for a good while and am now playing a bit when I have time between work/family/school. I searched for a general guide or FAQ to RAF but did not find one and here are my questions.
1. I want to boost so if I am going to use 3 accounts (one being the booster) how would I do the RAF. With 4? 5?
2. Is it better to boost or level a new toon on the veteran account?
3. If I read the Blizzard FAQ correctly, if I did 3 RAF accounts, once they hit 60 I could grant all the "free" levels from the RAF accounts to a new toon on my veteran account and then I would have 4 60's. Is that correct?
4. Is there a limit on how many recruit accounts you can link to a veteran account? If yes then would the following scenario work: Veteran account is A, recruit accounts linked to A are B and C. Could I link the new recruit account, D, to B and still have B count as a recruit account to A? Does that make sense to everyone the same way it does in my head? LOL
I think that is it for now but if I have more I will add to this or reply to my post.

Here's some info:
You can grant levels at any time, not just at 60. Every two levels an RAF character gains, he has one to grant to the veteran account.
I currently have the following set-up:
Account A (WotLK enabled): non linked booster
Account B (WotLK enabled): veteran account
Accounts C/D/E (TBC Enabled only): RAF Accounts
I run all 4 (four level 1s) to 15 then start instance boosting with Account A. Right now I have 4 level 40s on B-E. C/D/E EACH has 20 levels to grant to Account B. However I can't grant levels higher than my toons on C/D/E are.
If you use this setup, then when B/C/D/E all hit 60, you will have 90 levels to grant (30 each from C/D/E). I plan on gifting Account B a new toon 60 levels and then transferring it to Account A, giving me 5 level 60s with a level starting field for Outlands.
As far as a limit, I believe that the 5 referrals within 30 days is the limiting factor. As I didn't link an RAF account to another I'm not sure about how the RAF bonus would work out with respect to your question #4.
I would think that if you were boosting with your veteran account and only had 2 RAF boostees, then you would still get the 300% XP and quest XP on the 2 RAF accounts, but not on the veteran, as most green and all gray quests are considered trivial and don't grant the bonus.
Hope this answers some of the questions for you.

I started using RAF with 3 chars last night and after the first inital bit you have to get your grp to eversong, so make sure you can make a BE char on your main account so you can group summon and that you have TBC installed (I got stuck at that point)
2. Is it better to boost or level a new toon on the veteran account?
I created a new toon on my vet account as I wanted a priest for my guild, the other 2 accounts are purely there for support.
3. If I read the Blizzard FAQ correctly, if I did 3 RAF accounts, once they hit 60 I could grant all the "free" levels from the RAF accounts to a new toon on my veteran account and then I would have 4 60's. Is that correct?
As far as I understand it, yeh that is true, if you have 3 RAF accounts you can grant 1 lvl per 2 lvl on the RAF'ed accounts, Im using a vet account and 2 RAF'ed accounts and plan to grant as many levels as I can on a different toon once my priest and mages get to 60.
LOL
I dont know if there is a time limit that you have to have had the 'new' account before you can start handing out RAF's I know each account gives you 5 recruits.
I think that is it for now but if I have more I will add to this or reply to my post.
Hope that helps, I have only been multi-boxing for a few days.

Thanks for the replies so far. Here is another question I have.
If the booster is not the vet account, does it matter? What I mean is as long as the vet and recruit account grouped with the booster then the vet toon and recruit toon get the 300% correct?

That is correct. I'm boosting with my 5th account for the veteran and 3 RAF accounts and I'm always getting the 300% EXP from instances that are VERY grey to my DK booster.

I have a funny addition to the RAF XP bonus questions.
Im running a tri-box with a vet account with 2 slave accounts that were RAF'ed, doing the same quests and killing the same things, yet one of the slave accounts is behind in terms of xp when compared to the 2 other acccounts, which I find really weird and this has happened before when I started again with new toons as im learning how to multi-box properly.
Weird!!!.

Well, I guess I did not read up enough on the RAF boosting and what not because I linked the recruit accounts to my main account that I have the booster on. So now after reading more today, I believe that I have to move my booster to a 4th account OR just level up 3 new toons using the RAF bonus by questing and killing. Is that correct?
Also, are you able to transfer a DK to another account that does not have a toon on it that meets the requirements to make a DK? :P Here's to hoping you can as I really don't want to move my main toon.

I'd guess that you could transfer a DK to an account that does not have a high level on it, though the account would need to have WotLK.

So I tried to transfer my DK to an account w/o a toon that met the requirements to roll one, and sure enough it let me. So I am set now and have a booster on a non-linked account.

That's exactly what I did. I made a DK on my primary account, then shifted it to my second LK account. Cool thing is now you can make DKs on other servers if you decide to boost another team on a different server, say Horde if you've always done Alliance. The only stipulation is that you have a level 55 toon on the account, which is, of course automatic if you switch a DK onto an account.
