View Full Version : Can't seem to find killing quests anywhere now. I'm level 16 on all my characters.

I just can't seem to find any more killing quests for my level. I'm currently 16, about 8 bars to 17. I've done killing quests in Elveyn Forest, Westfall, Loch Modan, Redridge, where are some other places that would be good for my level? I don't have TBC or WoTLK yet.

Also, anyone got some macros for mage's conjour food/water spells?

Here's what I got for macros.

Mage Alts:

/assist Atop
/cast [exists,harm] Frostbolt

/cast [exists,harm] Arcane Explosion

Priest Alt:

/assist Atop
/cast [exists,harm] Smite

/target Atop
/cast Lesser Heal

/target Btop
/cast Lesser Heal

Same for the other characters.

Is this your first time through WoW?

The macro that I use for food and drink on my mages is:

/use [nomod] Conjured Purified Water
/use [nomod] Conjured Bread
/cast [mod:shift] Conjure Water; [mod:alt] Conjure Food

Eating, drinking and conjuring all on one button. You need to update the macro whenever you get a new conjure spell, but it works fine for me. I'm sure
there are much better than this and I will be watching the thread with interest :)

As for your not being able to find quests, sounds to me like you need to check out this thread ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=14471') from ELBA, it will have you to 60 in no time. It's made for
RAF linked characters. If your accounts aren't linked, then you can still use the standard Tourguide files, just click on through the collection quests.

Thanks for that food/water macro. I'll try that out.

Also, I'll look through that leveling guide to. Does anyone recommend using my mage's Arcane Explosion any or just stick with Frostbolting whatever my Main hits? I hope that once I get to 20 on them all I can get Holy Nova on my priest and Consecrate on my Pally and just AoE everything hoping Holy Nova would keep everyone alive, good idea or no?

I really hope to get another monitor sometime within the next week as 5 screens on one 1280x1024 LCD is smallllll :( I can barely even see the 4 alts -_-

That leveling guide assumes you got TBC and WoTLK. It has no places on there for my level that I have access to :(

Darkshire and then the zone below that as well. The zone right after the night elf starting zone. It's on Kalimdor. Can get there from stormwind. The south boat.

Yes, what Valky said. Darkshore area, on the other continent (Kalimdor) will have a ton of quests for you. Next one down (South) from there (Ashenvale Forest) has quests starting at level 20 or so. By then, all the quests that you couldn't get, due to too low level, will have opened up back in Redridge. Even skipping most of the collection quests, you shouldn't even come close to running out of quests, although I find that a few of the simple collection quests are quicker to do that running somewhere else to kill stuff.

Another option for you is to make a few runs through the Deadmines. Unless you're well geared, you might not be able to clear it yet, but you can get a ton of experience in there. Just clear as far as you can, jump out and reset it, and do it again.

You'll have to run down through to Booty Bay, though. Wailing Caverns and Deadmines are 17+, so you should probably start learning instances now.

How would I get to Darkshire? Is there a boat that takes me there? Also, is it for classic WoW, I don't have the expansions yet.

There is a boat that takes you there straight from Stormwind. Head down to the docks, the boat on your far left is the one to Auberdeen (Darkshore). That's still vanilla WOW, no expansion needed.

Once your boat lands, the dock will lead you right to the Inn (set your hearth there if you want), head down the ramp, turn right, and back up a ramp to the flight master, check in with him, head back through the Inn, and start grabbing quests. There's another whole continent for you to explore, and still no expansion needed. When you feel the need, you can take a boat to teldressal, grab the flight point there, then visit Darnassis (through the pink bubble), which is the capitol of elf world. "Some" character classes can get level up skills there, but if I recall, I don't think shaman or warlock can. Probably easiest to return to Stormwind for skill leveling if you have one of those.

Thanks. That got me up another couple levels. Y'all think I could try deadmines or would questing still be faster? I'm thinking of going to try deadmines at level 20. Currently level 17.8 on everyone.

Basic deadmine trash should be easy for your group. In addition to the bosses and their cohorts, be very careful of the patrols, especially the ranged mobs. The patrols are elites, and are a bit more dangerous than normal trash. After ever boss kill, you'll have two or three patrol elites spawn way behind you and wander to your area. Don't forget to go back and burn them down, as they can put some serious hurt on your toons if they happen upon you as you're fully engaged with some mobs farther into the instance.

The boss pulls are going to be tough for you at your level unless you're very well geared, but you can get good experience prior to dealing with the first one. If you wipe on it, don't fret, just corpse run back to the instance (you'll rez just inside the entrance), pop back out, reset it, and give it another go.

The last boss in there is a lot tougher than you'd think for the level, but with decent gear, good positioning, and a bit of luck, i've had success downing him when I was low twenties (22 or so maybe?). If you haven't multiboxed an instance, you'll likely learn a lot while having fun in there. Deadmines is fun, and has decent loot for the level. If you haven't done any instances at all, be aware that the actual entrance to the deadmines in DEEP within the mine, the mine itself is not the instance.

So, I finally hit level 20.

Any ideas on how I should order my skills on the action bars? Right now, Judge of Light is on key 1, my assist frostbolt/smite macros on key 1 as well. Arcane explosion on key 2 on my mages and buffs from 2-6 on my pally. Heals cover those buttons to.

I did one kill quest in Darkshire and it was fairly easy, but the second one I couldn't even get to because the mobs were 25+ and just raped me :(

Any other place for a level 20 party?

Yea, give deadmines a go. Just take it nice and steady and try not to pull too many mobs at once. Also, when you clear the "rooms" a pat will spawn behind you somewhere and over the course of a few mins slowly walk towards you. So just be mindful they can sneak up on you if you don't keep an eye out.

Lvl 20 try wetlands. Do the murlocs and raptor quests. I usually try to hold off on that area until 21-22 though. There should be some more quests available to you at that lvl in red ridge. The one problem with lvling as alliance is that quests are spread out every where and requires you to constantly shift backwards and forwards between zones.

And you probably have to suck it up and do a few collection quests.

Any other place for a level 20 party?Would that quest be those mf-ing naga in the cave to the northeast? That quest has always been stupidly too hard for the level.
