View Full Version : what's the status about serverside macros and bindings ?

Among other teams, I'm running a duo (prot warrior and holy priest) and from time to time, I'd like my priest to join a group of 4 other "normal" players. Well, this priest was born for that. Before the serverside stuff, it was easy, I was just logging from another computer but how to deal with it now ? : I don't mind about the "heal-the-wawa" macros (I simply don't use them with a full group) but I need to be able to change the keybinds.

I spent my all saturday on that : first discovering things were serverside (I didn't play for the last 6 months). Then I thought Bartender 4 was the solution, managing profiles but it does not work. I read some stuff on Macaroon but it seems to have some bugs. I tried the command "/console synchronizeSettings (or bindings or macros) 0" but it didnt work well.

So, which addon or how are you managing with different set of keybinds for the same character, taking into account that I dont mind about the macros and I can change computer to log this character.

Thanks for your help !

I'm probably going to disable server side UI settings but keep macros serverside (I have different folders with different setups based on group compisition - i.e. - tank or no tank?)

I pulled this from the UI/Macro forum at wow.com

In 3.0.3 you will be able to manage macros vs key bindings separately:
/console synchronizeConfig 0
-- turns off synchronization of UI settings
/console synchronizeBindings 0
-- turns off synchronization of key bindings
/console synchronizeMacros 0
-- turns off synchronization of macros

Yes, i saw this thread but even using this consolesynchro command, I messed it up. But I was trying with a 5-alt team, maybe should try again with my (warrior, priest) duo.
Else, i just saw another thread on this forum, last thursday : an idea could be simply to use an empty main bar, so the keybinds triggered by my warrior would have no effect on the priest. Then, all my main heals for the instance run would be on the action bar 2, that would be up during the instance.
Seems simple and should work, isn't it ?
