I was interested in what totems stacked with each other when cast by multiple shamans?
For instance, if all 5 threw down healing stream totem would you get 5 healing stream totem buffs for 500ish healing every 3 seconds?
Or does stoneskins stack for 5x damage reduction?
I know that WF won't give you 5x windfury enchant on your weapons
Any help would be appreciated
thx

I had a 60 resto shaman in T2 and the healing stream did 120-150 every 3 seconds.
what does a 70 resto shaman in kara epics get for his healing stream?
How about a enhancement with no/little +healing get for his healing stream?

I had a 60 resto shaman in T2 and the healing stream did 120-150 every 3 seconds.
I'll have to check when I hop on my resto shammy...

EDIT: BTW, I'm 0/0/61 with approx 1750 +healing... Dunno why armory doesn't update from my random flirtations with some enh gear I ninja'ed in ZA
I'm pretty sure it's over 200 health per 2. Typically, in 5-mans, I lay WoA, Healing Stream, Earth Shield then switch to whatever totems the rest of the group wants while windfury melee'ing the mob with my healing mace. Only ever have to heal once or twice on boss fights.

lets assume i can get +1000 healing, whats the math on the increase because its instant is it 1/10?
So with lvl 69 healing totem, thats base is 18/2 seconds, does that mean i can get 118 base every 2 seconds?
so i am assuming because it stacks that i can get 500/2 seconds no problem?
Now what if all shamans were rolling with battlemaster, would you ever need to heal?
Does anyone know if the windfury trick still works were you put rank6 on one wep and rank5 on the other and when WF goes of you get 6 instant attacks?
Has anyone tried this setup?

I can't tell you the math, but I can do the experiment. People think I'm insane prolly for flying up high and falling over and over and over again, then casting heal stream.
I'm 0/0/61 with points in restorative totems and such... blah blah blah.
With 1862 +healing, healing stream is 144-145 every 2 seconds (~8640 health total over 2min - times 5 party members)
With 1375 +healing, healing stream is 113-114 every 2 seconds (~6780 health total over 2min - times 5 party members)
With 1172 +healing, healing stream is 100-101 every 2 seconds (~6000 health total over 2min - times 5 party members)
With 923 +healing, healing stream is 84-85 every 2 seconds (~5040 health total over 2min - times 5 party members)
Most likely when I was seeing ticks close to the 200's is fully raid buffed and flasked with a trink'ed healing stream totem. Right now I'm using mana regen trinket and such.
My healing stream totem tooltip shows:
Healing Stream Totem - Rank 6
71 Mana
Instant Cast
Summons a Healing Stream Totem with 5 health at the feet of the caster for 2 min that heals group members within 30 yards for 27 every 2 seconds
(this is a total of 1620 base health every 2 min - times 5 party members)
Anyway, hopefully my armory will update to prove I'm not an enh-nub. ;)
I'm logging off in my heal gear so hopefully it'll show correctly.

wow thats crazy, 8k health over 2 minutes, obviously better for pve than pvp but still.
thx for doing the tests. how hard is it to get 1800+ healing gear?

not that hard, all epics from Kara + a few better badge items and you can get that easily. Also enchants will help alot.

If Armory would update, you'd be able to see my gear. :P
I'm 2 piece t4 (kara) and vast majority are kara epix. Just got ZA chest (not enchanted), and leather drood boots from SSC. I basically quit raiding right as we hit SSC to focus more on my 5boxing and leveling, though Suvega is already heading into BT.
Anyway, 1.5k +healing after kara is easily achievable. I went for more int and mana regen gem-wise.

ya i keep checking your armory but having seen any resto gear. did you change your talents to resto as well or did you keep them elemental/enhancement?
How does resto talents change your +healing on totems? I read through all the talents and have played a resto shaman i just don't know how they actually affect the final product on how much it heals per 2 seconds.

Healing Stream Totem
- Gets 6% of your +healing per 2 second tic. Like earthshield, this is determined when you cast the spell, so include it in your post trinket spell spam.
- With 800 +healing and the restorative totems (+25%) talent, heals the entire party for 82hp every 2s for 120s. Of course most of it is overheal, and too slow to make a real dent, but it's potentially 24,600 healing for only 71 mana! (with totemic focus -25% cost)
got that off the shaman forums

if you have 5 of them that bang out 1500/2 seconds they sure are a replacement, in PvE that is, and the mana efficiency is off the charts, only cost <100 mana to cast it and it last 2 minutes or something crazy.
Throw in 1 resto shaman or even set up some sort of macro with chain heal and that should top everything off then it gets crazy.
just trying to think outside the box

I recorded this not long ago so a friend of mine could see what five boxing is like. Since we're talking about Healing Stream Totems, the SCT spam is giggle-worthy. I don't turn it off because it's just so incredibly awesome.
And don't laugh at my DPS! One of them was resto at the time.

Obviously there is a balance between dmg and healing, so i first wanted to figure out the max +healing/2 seconds i could get, then bring it down to an appropriate level in order to gain sustainable dps.
That video rocked. From what i could tell you NEVER healed? all your healing was from healing stream? what kind of +healing gear did you have? and what was the exact number i was seeing for each totem? was it the standard 70ish from each one for 340/2 seconds?
Plus dont most gear that comes with +healing also have a +dmg modifier as well to spells? So you would at least get 50% of +dmg if you focues on +healing.
I appeared fromt he video that if you NEVER had to worry about healing that makes killing stuff easier to focus on?

Don't remember if I healed or not. In the next room I would have certainly healed on the Fel Overseers. Now that they all are specced elemental, I two-shot non heroic elites so healing is rarely needed.
They each have something like 450 +dmg (so the same for +healing). The totems seem to be ticking for 35-37.
And you're almost correct. +healing gear gives 1/3 its value in +dmg.
All in all non heroic instances are very easy with this setup.

I'm pretty sure the amount the totem heals for would update even if you swapped out gear, let alone dropping the wrath of air totem after dropping the healing stream.
Edit: Would have to test this, though.

If I'm reading you correctly... spec 5x resto and / or stack up +healing gear, correct?
Who is going to DPS? :?
I have to admit, I pull decent (note - decent, not COMPETITIVE) dps in a resto spec with 11 pts in elemental for clearcasting wearing only healing gear and the lightning capacitor trink.
Of course, I do have approx 1800 +healing, and I make use of NS+lb.
I melee'd a hunter to death who tried to gank me with my healing mace. This is post-Arcane Shot buff, which means I was never able to keep my earth shield active.
Anyway, I suppose it's possible, but not recommended. You'd outlast anything anyone could ever throw at you, and 5x hreoisms would make up for the fact that you dont' get the reduced cast time on LB.

Here is a question.
Wrath of Air Totem: Adds +healing & +damage
If you drop this PRIOR to droping Healing Stream totem, does it add to the effect? I'm not 62 yet, so i can't test it.
Correct.
You can trink, wrath of air, eat spelldamage food, flask, and then lay any HoT and it tick for whatever +healing you have at the time of the cast.
This means Earth Shield and Healing Stream (and Gift of the Naaru) for Shaman.
Earth Shield gets an incredible +healing coefficient, which is what makes it so amazing. People don't notice it because it shows up on heal meters as healing from whoever the buff is on, so the shaman doesn't get the credit for those heals (much like priests and PoM, druids and lifebloom "blooms").
I used to carry around a lvl70 green "of Healing" set that I would wear just before every pull. I'd swap into this set, pop both trinkets, and buff the tank with somewhere near 2000 or so +healing. Then I'd switch to my normal healing set before combat started and the Earth Shield would tick with +2000 healing even though I was wearing my normal gear again.
This is the same as healing stream. If I had laid a heal stream with +2000 healing and switched gear, it would still tick as if I had +2000 healing.

So let me get this right, you get 30%+dmg from your total +healing?
So if you had +1800 healing you would automatically get +600dmg?
I hope i read that right.

Healing: Almost all items and enchantments that provide bonus healing now also provide a smaller number (approximately 1/3) of bonus spell damage. There are a few items and enchantments where this was not possible, such as random-stat items and Zul'Gurub enchantments, but this is now the case on virtually all other items.

Thx for everyone that helped me figure stuff out, it really got my gears rolling trying to think it out.
Like i said, i had played a resto shaman at 60 and loved him in pvp, i rarely died and loved the team aspect of the class.
Excellent thread guys. Thanks!
I'll link to this in my next blog post. I need to start collecting some of this detailed Shammie info. Keep it coming!
