I need to farm Moroes for Mongoose...please help

What group composition would I need to actually enter Kara and obtain the enchant?

Can my group of 5 shamans do it? or do I need to recruit a tank and an additional healer...

Please list all thoughts and tips as you see fit.

Seen an 80 DK solo it, along with all of kara minus netherspite iirc. Cant remember about chess event either. There are a number of vids out there, I think you can do it.

Biggest thing is that I never actually got the chance to raid Kara...so I really have no clue about what to expect and whether my team has the firepower to attempt it.

bit of info on your group would help, like lvl/spell power etc.

if your 80 you could do it with 5 shammys easy, hes the 2nd boss in there and they do go down really quick, his adds only have like 100k hp or something, with shammy aoe these now its easy to kill them all.

if you only need 1 enchant wouldnt you just be better off buyin a scroll of mongoose of the ah? upto you

I've done almost full kara (except Netherspite, Nightbane, chess and Prince) with 5 shamans. No wipes at all, it is definitely easier than 80 heroics. Bosses are a joke, like lvl80 normal 5 man bosses.

I love Kara. A very imaginative and unique instance. It's too bad we all got burned out farming it for months, but it had some really cool bosses in there.

right, cuz you cant have level 80 alts, nosiree...

now if they said "BG Twink" then I would assume it would never be leveled, but alts doesnt mean shit.

I understand what was asked. I didnt have an answer, however I was wondering why they wanted it so badly. If the OP didnt know that Mongoose is no good at 80 then I just saved them a bunch of time. If not, then nothing was lost and they still got their answer about the encounter. Win/win I say.

Mongoose enchant scrolls sell for 300-400 g on my server, I have a shit load of void crystals to use. Also.. some level 80s still use it, there is no level 80 version of mongoose yet.

I did moroes at 70 with my team. Check http://mogulus.com/teamteht I have the kara run recorded in my library there. Paladin and focus fire on the adds made it workable, although it was a close call.

As for mongoose, it is currently one option for tanks, and arguably the best option for bear tanks. This is because there's really 0 options that were added in the xpac for tanks. I prefer potency for my paladin, but mongoose is a close second along with the titanium weapon chain.

Aside from that, who cares why he wants it. He wants it, same as I want a Thunderfury. Who cares how useful it is?

Again if he didnt know thats its barely situationally useful then he might change his mind. It's an option for bear tanks, but 35agi is arguably better. Sorry for attempting to help someone that MAY be wasting his/her time. SORRY JEEZ.

Ok all...I'm the OP. Thank you to all who have replied to this post. I love that everyone isn't afraid to post their experiences and opinions. I didn't exactly specifically state what all of my intentions were for obtaining this enchant, but several of you pretty much answered it for me...twinks are definitely part of the equation and yes a certain druid and even a rlf who plays a rogue.

Multibocks, I sincerely appreciate any and all thoughts that are posted on these forums. I come here for useful and even sometimes outlandish advice. I, in no way took offense to your post. I do know the mongoose enchant is a bit outdated. I enjoy reading your posts...please keep them coming.

Mmh, I just quad-boxed moroes with four shamans, was very easy. Dropped earth elementals and nuked moroes in no time at all. I'm fully epic though but still I think with the right strategy every multiboxer can farm him.

Do you still need a key to get in (on one toon) or did they remove that entirely? I wonder if I could 6 man him (3 74 mages 1 40 mage, 1 74 priest 1 74 prot paladin) I love the instance, and ran it with a couple 80s once just for kicks, and to get some upgrades to make leveling easier.

I think it would be kinda fun to start 5 manning it, and start 10 boxing with 5 80s and 5 68s, to get better looking gear (IMO the early northrend gear is fugly, the later stuff is awesome though)

If you farm kara once a week, you should be able to make some decent money, and get some decent leveling gear for alt teams :)

I guess you could do the same thing if an 80 DK can solo stuff there, just tag along lvl 68-70 alt teams to gear out/heal/dps a bit.

As a side note, It's a shame that the nature of such a game inevitably trivializes older content. Too bad they cant make a different "difficulty" level such as "legendary" that turns any instance into a hard version tailored to whatever level cap you are at or near... But i bet that would be way too complicated.

As I know is a key needed for Kara, but only one person needs a key, to open up the gate or something (they changed it this way, before everyone needed the key, maybe they changed it again?!)

I haven't done Kara since 70, but towards the end of T5, you could 7 man it with a single tank.
Netherspite might be hard for a group, because of needing to dance the beams.
I'm not sure how bad the lava areas are for Nightbane.

As for the trash up towards Moroes, it should be a lot easier now with the AoE changes.
Moroes has the four adds once his room is clear. I'd imagine you'd kill the adds in sequence first, in order of whichever is most dangerous.
If you outgear it enough, and with 80's that might very well be the case, just have the tank AoE everything and burn Moroes down with AoE gradually getting the rest.
