Currently I'm running a rogue and a priest through pre-BC wow with Recruit a Friend. I level up about once every 20-45 minutes. I can ignore gathering quests because you simply don't have to do many quests to level.
Once I hit level 60, the Recruit a Friend experience bonus will disappear and I'll have to do lots of quests to level up. I can't solo instances because I only have 2 toons (it is actually dual boxing, not multi boxing).
Should I decide which of the characters I'm going to solo with or try to continue dual boxing into Outland? If so, what should I do about quests where you have to loot a quest item off a corpse?
Thanks.
continue dual-boxing through BC content just skip gather quests.

Skipping gathering quests in Outland will still make you 70 before you leave Blade's Edge. :)
Keep on trucking (err boxing)
My Shaman are busily working toward 70, i do some of the Gather quests depending on what it is (just did the Warm Welcome in Zangarmarsh as I'm killing Naga for other reasons so i may as well do that quest)
However if its a quest the relies on Random drops i wont bother
Cant advise on a Rogue/Priest as I've not had much experience with either class and my current Lock/Priest team is basically on Perma Hold till its sorted out with abilites and such

Thanks.Here's how it works:
Set the main as Master Looter, to control where greens and above go - it also gets rid of the "roll" window.
Set the slave to "Pass on loot".
The main will loot, and pick up everything, *except* quest items.
The main will get his first, then the alt. For example, if you need 10 Boar Pancreas, your main will gather them until he has 10, then after that your alt will see sparklies on the corpse, and can loot their quest items.
Note that this does not work on rep items, like Sanguine Hibiscus, or Scryer/Aldor items. I don't remember if it works for warbeads and such in Nagrand, but I think it does.
I use this on my 3 toon team, and it makes it a lot easier - I've done all the collection quests in BC and Wrath on them, set this way.
Just make sure your main has LOTS of bag space, for all the cloth, meat, spare body parts, and white and grey items!

I'm not so sure I agree. The first multiboxed team I put through Outland was just after 3.0.1 hit and it was still murder.

collection quests are not too bad on a 2 man team. I would set a limit though. If they want more than 6 or 8 of something I would skip it. I remember 5 boxing that gather 30 zeppelin parts quest in Hellfire because it gave a helm or something if I remember right that I wanted.
There are some collection quests that have 100% drop rates, those are not bad either, but I don't know a decent resource that will tell you what ones are.
