View Full Version : Macaroon forgetting keybinds?

I've recently started using Macaroon and for the most part, I am amazed at it, it seems to do a great job. However, with my hunters, I have bound Q and E to
Cheetah and Hawk aspects and while they work great when I'm playing, once I log out and return later, it no longer seems to work.

I've unbound both keys in the blizz interface on all characters, the bind still shows as being there in Macaroon, but it does nothing. The only way I can get it
working again, is to unbind and then rebind them for each character in Macaroon.

Am I missing something simple here?

I have had issues with keybinds and posession bars myself. Managed to set up it through trial and error though. :p

Just had a horrible thought too, all day yesterday, I was trying to set up my first FTL system, it seemed to work ok, then just stopped. This could have
been the same issue causing that and I scrapped all of my work. Oh no! :) How did you manage to get it working, Kaynin? Just a case of hitting everything
and something worked, or did you narrow it down?

This has got me climbing the walls now, I've tried what I think is everything. Including reinstalling the addon and retrying everything else.
Still it doesn't seem to remember binds when I restart my clients.

Does anyone know of an addon that has similar functionality to Macaroon, that doesn't have the problems? Once I can find something, I
can get stuck into writing my FTL system.

Are you quitting wow the right way?

When i alt+f4 or just use the "exit" button instead of loggin out settings doesnt get stored.

Yeah, never use alt-f4 for anything. I always log out at inns or cities. I've just noticed too, I did a /reloadui as my tomtom arror was a mess, when it reloaded
suprise suprise, macaroon works for all four of my slaves that didn't do the reload, but my main had to redo the binds again. It's got me stumped, never come
across this problem with any other addons.

One thought- is it possible you started WoW as Admin once and it's changed the permissions on the keybinds so that you're no longer allowed to save over them? If it was only the one config file rewritten then it'd help to explain why it only happens for this one mod.

I'm not too sure what's wrong with it, I gave up in the end. But i use Keyclone to start my clients, KC needs admin rights, though I'm not sure how it starts the clients. To date though, it's still the only addon to give me problems.

if yeh have something bound to "shift e" "ctrl e" "ctrl shift e" what ever combo yer using in yer ftl setup it'll cause problems.

I am fighting with macaroon now for days and "I am going slightly mad" (--quote queen song)

my macaroon macros don't evaluate the modifiers if I use a keypress

e.g. Macro button , bound to 1, SHIFT+ALT+1

modifiers SHIFT+ALT do not work at all in the macro.
Funny thing is: When I mousclick (right or left mouse) the macro while holding shift+alt it works as intended

when I press shift+alt+1 it doesn't process the modifiers. *sigh*

Searched the web and found nothing of this sort, only that macaroon is THE mouseover casting thing.

Thanks to Freddy and HNK I have a working solutions by using clickmouse, but it is not as I intended it originally!)

any ideas ?

Unless you explicitly bind shift-<keybind>, the default UI keybinds will take precedent. For example, in the default UI shift-1 is the keybind to take you to action bar/page one. If you bind a Macaroon button to 1 and hit shift-1 (to activate a [mod:shift] condition) Blizzard's binding still takes priority. The only way to solve this is to unbind those functions from the default UI. Macaroon has a hands-off approach to the default UI and merely creates virtual override bindings and does not erase anything the default UI has set up.

as an example I took the 1 key.

in my config it was the Numpad0-9 with [lr]ctrl+[lr]alt

I will check if they are available or If I had them configured in the BLIZZ bars.

(I actually replaced ALL blizz bars with macaroon bars)

cheers

AAARG....
I think I found the problem :

in bindings-cache.wtf I still have he remnants of BT4 which I used before. Even that it is no longer installed, the keybindings probably still active which :cursing: the whole thing up :cursing: :cursing: :cursing:

bind CTRL-NUMPAD0 CLICK BT4Button96:LeftButton
bind CTRL-NUMPAD1 CLICK BT4Button96:LeftButton
bind CTRL-NUMPAD2 CLICK BT4Button96:LeftButton

(I made this like a couple of month ago when I was still using keyclone...)

thanks for the tip.

going to clean out my bindings-cache now.
