My best boss DPS yet - this is with a few heals thrown in also since I have 4 elemental shamans. Not too shabby. My worst shaman has about 1950 sp buffed just with flametongue (so add 280 on to that with totem of wrath), and my best has around 2050sp buffed with flametongue but no wrath, so around 2330 sp with wrath :) Still have a few blues to replace.

On this particular boss fight I used bloodlust and did FS/LvB/LB/LB/LB/LB/LvB/LB/FS/LB/LB/LvB - he died less than 1 second after transforming into the rhino - if I had used icebound fortitude I would have killed him before he transformed at all because I wouldn't have had to heal - my goal has always been to drop him before he turns into a rhino, looks like next run I might get to :D

Edit: DK DPS is kind of lame but ~1000 isn't horrible, better than some crappy fresh 80 pug dps a lot of times. On trash I've seen my DK DPS after up to 1600 between bosses with liberal use of UB and DnD :)

Oh and another HELL YES. Just ran Heroic CoT and killed the infinite corruptor with 4 minutes to spare (after he was dead no less). Will be doing this 4 more times for 4 more bronze drakes - forgot to take a screenshot :D

Edit: Hmmm, this makes me wonder - once I have 5 bronze drakes, could I sell timed runs? I bet people would pay 800-1000g for a guaranteed drake. Of course it'd be harder to do with 1 pug retard with me, but a few more pieces of gear and really getting everything down good and I think I could do it.

You definitely can, I cleared CoT yesterday with just 4 of my guys as a test and got to the infinite corruptor with 1 min left (no wipes but had waves all over the map), obviously that wasn't fast enough but I run resto shaman so if I respec'd him ele and used 3x heal glyphs I bet I could make it. Sadly on my server there are others who sell bronze drakes for 300-500g so its not even worth my time, I just did it because when I finally level my DK to 80 I'd like to bring him along charity runs and gear him up (lol) so I'm trying to 4 box heroics the next few weeks.

No idea if anyone sells drake runs on my server (have never seen it in trade chat but i typically stay out of capital cities) but if it ends up being a good amount of money I will do it. grats! That's crazy dps. How do you do your spell rotation? with castsequences?

I'll give a quick description of my keybindings and what I did.

My tank really just uses a few keys:

F1 - Death and Decay
1 - Tanking castsequence with rune strike - alternate key alt+2/ctrl+alt+2 (so it keeps rotating while im spamming DPS on my shaman)
v - bone shield
alt+f1 - icebound fortitude
ctrl+f1 - taunt (dark command I think)
shift+4 - unholy blight

Those are really the only keys I use regularly on my DK, and realistically I mostly just use "1" and "v"

For DPS my shamans use the following keys:

2 - just casts lightning bolt
ctrl+2 - just casts chain lightning
ctrl+alt+2 - just casts lava burst
alt+2 - castrandom Lava Burst,LB,CL,Purge
shift+c - all 4 cast flameshock
` - use all trinkets, elemental mastery, etc
ctrl+alt+1 - bloodlust rotation

I also have various heal macros such as:

3 - all 4 shamans lesser healing wave tank's target if friendly, or tank if target is not friendly
alt+3 - all 4 shamans lesser healing wave themselves
ctrl+3 - each shaman chain heals the next shaman in line or themselves if the next shaman is dead or doesn't exist

But for this purpose we only care about DPS. So, I basically did the following:

Ran at boss with DK (boneshield preloaded), drop death and decay just in front of DK so boss would be inside while fighting
Start spamming the "1" key to begin DK rotation
Hit shift+c on shamans to cast flameshock immediately after hitting "1"
Spam ctrl+alt+2 until my shamans all start to cast lava burst (meanwhile ctrl+alt+2 keeps my tanking rotation going)
Spam ` until trinkets fire off, and then spam ctrl+alt+1 until I get the bloodlust buff (takes 1/2 a second at most)

This is pretty much every boss fight. At this point I typically just spam alt+2 the rest of the fight which does the /castrandom, and keeps the tanking rotation going, however on the fight with the dps above I did:

spam "1" + "2" to keep tanking rotation going AND fire strictly lightning bolts, until 4 LBs had gone off
spam ctrl+alt+2 until lava burst x4 begins casting
spam "1" + "2" again until a couple more LBs had gone off and I knew FS was about to run out
spam shift+c until 4x flameshocks went off
spam ctrl+alt+2 until lava burst x4 begins casting
spam "1" + "2" until boss was dead

So the short answer to your question was, I did a manual rotation, not a castsequence :)

First off, congratulation! Those are some amazing DPS numbers.

Do you think the high DPS is due to the AoE of chain lightning? I'm curious if a boomkin team could get these types of numbers against a single mob. I keep hearing others (not you) quote DPS numbers, but then it turns out they were just AoEing the whole time. I guess I'm old school, but I always like to see DPS versus a single target and I'm curious if shamans are just the dominating class at the moment.

The number I posted in the first post is strictly from fighting the last boss of Gun'Drak. I cleared the recount totals prior to the fight. As such, this number was achieved with bloodlust up almost the entire fight (since I killed the boss before bloodlust ended). Also Elemental Mastery was up most if not all of the fight as well :)

On trash I do not get these numbers, though I suppose I could if I had bloodlust and elemental mastery up and pulled 5-6 mobs. Usually just running through trash in Gundrak using my /castrandom macro I get something like 2100 DPS, no cooldowns used, and I have to heal quite a lot more when 3-5 things are beating on my tank :)

Heroic CoS second run tonight got another bronze drake. This time all but 1 wave were across the entire map so I had to run back and for something like 8 times. I still made it to the corruptor with over 3 minutes left, that felt good, so now I'm confident that if I don't severely screwup I can do this over and over again. Once I get the 5th drake in 3 nights, I'll try doing it with 4 players to see if selling runs is feasible for me or not.

Just remember, if you run it with 4 members and just barely make it or just barely miss out, the person you sell it to can help out some with the dps :P

Thats what I was thinking - the only thing I was worried about is if he dies and I have to res him since he won't be getting healed. Would probably work great with ranged DPS though cause my chain heals would catch him :)

Well I did my 5th Timed CoS run today and got my 5th drake. But the best news... I recorded the entire thing at 30fps in full size quality with audio. I am currently compressing to wmv. I will post up both the original video with the regular sound, and then I will make another video with some regular music since the regular audio kind of sucks and its boring. I might try to overlay some strategies or something on the video if I can figure it out, but for right now theres not much strategy involved except when to stop and drink and when to drop grounding totems :)

Its going to take an hour or more to compress the first copy of the video which will be something like 640 megs (~30 min video), and then another long time to upload to my web provider and/or youtube (probably do youtube first so people can stream it). So I would imagine it will be available tomorrow sometime.

Just thought I'd update this a bit...

Last night I ran the daily heroic which was Gun'Drak. I actually killed the final boss before he turned into a rhino at all. In fact, I killed him so fast he hadn't even yelled that he was planning on turning into a rhino yet. Sadly I forgot to take a screenshot :(

I also ran Heroic UP for the other daily, and decided to do Skadi the "normal" way (I'd only ever done it the "cheap" way before). Wasn't too bad - you can easily pull the first 2 groups back to the previous room and kill them before even attempting to walk down the hallway. After that you just stay behind the little rope/fence thing on the right side, move slowly since the frost won't hit you at all and you can pull a group, then kill the runner adds, then move to the next roped area on the right, kill the next group, kill the next runner adds, then kill the last group and drop the boss. :)
