After some warmups in Nexus & Utgarde Keep I decided to give Oculus a try, since I was in the neighbourhood :p
Took me a bit over 2 houres, but this was my first time ever boxing on vehicles, so it was mostly macro-writing while doing the instance.
Paid off in the end though! 20 Achievements (5x Oculus, Heroic Oculus, Ruby void and Emerald Void) as well :D

Been struggling with Oculus with my guild. What strategy did you use with your 5 amber drakes? I know you kept him frozen pretty much the whole time, but any other tips? 1min46 seconds is amazing, grats!

The general idea to killing him with 5 amber drakes is:
1. Keep him frozen
- He is immune after 3 times (diminishing returns) where u have to wait till banish phase
- If he spawns adds during his short 'not-frozen' time before the first banish phase, it's prety much a wipe, because they'll kill 1/2 of your dragons
2. rotate with the beam / dps
- To get him down fast you need to get charges on him asap. To do this you start the fight channeling with 2 alts, dpsing wigh 3. When the 2 channelers have ~5-10 stacks you start channeling the 3 others, then unleash the first 2
---> your other 3 will have 10 stacks each now, channel first 2 again, unleash 3. And just keep repeating this.
The tactic is prety simple, but what makes it hard is that it has to be 'perfect'. E.G. I wiped a few times pressing my time stop roundrobin on a global cooldown, forcing you to press it again, and of course your rotation gets messed up

Aye, the bronze drake method is probably the best way to multibox Oc. I was loving it when I finally got down the macro's for it right. :> (I was 4+1 tho, quad-boxing)

I haven't actually used any macro's for the final encounter.
I had my normal /assist focus macro to get them to target the boss, and then i switched the 1 and 3 bindings on half my team around, and put 2 as round robin, (1 & 3 is the beam / the normal attack)
Wow dude ... I've never seen such an ugly interface in my entire life. :D
But congratulations on the kill anyway! ;)

Well, the chat is stretched out for achievements screeny, and the rest all fits perfectly when you're in combat (more bars appear) so then its really handy. ooc it looks a bit messy and unorganised indeed :p

I've done occ before plenty times with pugs and found ley really easy even before the nerf. I went in with my team and basically dps'ed the first three bosses down without ever having to move. As far as doing this with the amber drakes solo that seems pretty hard for me. I tired once with 5 reds and half-assed him to 40% with 5 amber i cant get him past 80%. Do you actually go into your keybindings and manually switch the numbers? I tried to move the icons around on the screen for the drakes but I could not move them. How are people replacing these with macros for the drakes?

(ignoring the thread necroing here)
I just set up a different profile for it in macaroon and learned the /command to load the profile i wanted so I could to it while flying up to the boss. This was how I managed to "solo" the make it count achievement before the nerf.

i got my achievement today too:D
i usually jump this instance, or do 3 bosses and waste a couple of try on last boss if i have time.
today done with 5 ruby drakes, at 4th attempt: now im Northrend dungeon hero:p
5 ruby drakes look for me easier: use 2 buttons, no macros, no rebinding keys, just spam button 1 and 2, and absolutly avoid button 3. but in successful attempt lost 2 of my paladins/drakes.

I guess that's possible now that they buffed it.
