Bløød DK's Clear The Nexus!!!

So, I cleared the Nexus back around lvl 70 and Keristraza just could not be killed at that level. Too much dmg to deal with given the 10% Blood Aura limitation with a 5-man DK group. I had to go back and get a little redemption. The DKs were level 73-74 in this video. With the improved Blood Aura (now 20% of the dmg I do comes back as health) the rest of the dungeon is laughable. I just displayed it in this video for demonstration sake.

I will be honest though Keristraza still wasn't a pushover. I did lose 2 of my guys at the end. I am pretty confident moving forward though that magic wont be an issue. I took out a lot of points in Blood and am going Unholy. With the cooldowns I should in theory be able to keep anti-magic zone up at all times (on rotation). Add in the Gargoyles and Bone Shield and they should be a force to be reckoned with. Time will tell. Hope you enjoy:

Good Work! Thats awesome, now I got to get back into Nexus and see if I can finish off the boss as well. Only got her down to 30ish% before they all died. Still working on a tatic to get my CD's timing down to even stay alive, lol.

Got her down to 20% full health on all toons, and then, WTFPWN she crits the piss out of me, kills one, then gets lucky on the other toon and kills her.
Three left to drop her 20% and some how I manage to live through it all. Woot 71, 71 (levled in dungeon) 70, 70, 70.

Anti-magic zone aint all that on a boss. See the shield only holds for 10kish damage, which sounds like a lot but really its 10k damage over 5 characters, so 2k per character. I guess thats 10k total per character if you use them all, but I think the points are better spent elsewhere. In fact I used my anti magic shield on that mage ho in this instance and it seriously was gone in 1 sec. =(

I think 20% healing for damage is your best bet.

edit: actually you know what I am finding is INVALUABLE as a DK? The frost talent that gives you resist vs all. That + frost stance(obviously only for tank) means AE and DD is dropped about 25%ish percent. Saves a lot of healing for my druid.

lol what was that guy asking you? Looked like he was paying you to powerlevel him out of group?? Also, another funny note is that you forgot Horn of Winter in 2 boss fights. Its a pretty significant source of damage unless I am missing a reason to not include it? Also could you link the spec you guys are running? Thanks!

He's a guy in our guild about 2 levels higher. Wanted to know if I would help take out some bosses or group quests for him. He pays big $$$, so I cant refuse. I know I will need the $$$ when they hit 80 and to buy weaps like the titansteel destroyers. Horn of Winter does help and yeah, I always catch myself missing it from time to time. The only boss I really needed it on though was Keristraza. The rest were *yawn* fights. =)

Oops, forgot to include spec for the guys. I am sort of a mix right now to get the full time ghoul pet and 2/2 Blood Aura. Once I hit 80 though, this is the spec I will be running:

I think this will give me the most all-around (PVE and PVP) survivability. Keep in mind that each DK is being specced with a "tanking" role in mind. Taking the least amount of damage, the most healing is the way to go based on my experience thus far. Having full time pets out is also very helpful as well. Every item you get should be focused towards defense, dodge and parry. Once you get your defense as high as 540 (for raiding bosses) or 538 for normal bosses, then focus on dodge and parry. Hope this helps :thumbup:

Yep. After looking at some of the boss fights and how they don't attack based on threat or aggro, I thought it would be smart to make sure any one of my guys can take a hit and keep on trucking. While they may not be doing massive damage, they aren't taking near as much incoming damage and now the healing is doubled off of the damage they are doing. Sustainability is the key I think. I may be wrong, but it hasn't failed me so far. Also, based on what I am seeing that other DK's are soloing and looking at their armory's....they are all speccing with tank builds and focusing on as much defense gear until they hit 540 at level 80.

For instance, the other day, I was in Dragonblight and ran into that Colossal Abomination guy (80 elite). After fighting for what seemed to be a peculiar long time, I noticed he had a skull for his level (All my guys were level 74). Yeah, I know, I shouldn't attack first, then look at their level later, but oh well. I later looked him up on wowhead to see he had over 300K health and hits quite hard. My guys were staying at full health and I could have downed him, but got bored of "swinging" =) so I left. I don't think I would have had the same outcome if I didn't have my defense up that high and was strictly focused on Attack Power, Strength, Damage or whatever.

Well, honestly, you can mix it up with attack and defense, how much of both is up to you and what you are wanting to do. It also is different with each spec. More blood with a little bit of unholy/frost, (my spec) does pretty good with a mix of defense and attack, hell I am running Nexus and UK with hardly any defense. I had my parry and dodge rating at 20% each. But now that I got rid of my gem gear and went more towards defense, I seem to take more damage, there for it requires me to use IBF and Vamp more often... But I also get some pretty hard hits in (3K+ a hit) if you look at my last vid, my main alone gets 2K+ a lot and 3K+ a couple of times... (Does not seem like much, but for a tank and 4 others hitting for the same damage its good dps). I was doing Nexus/UK at level 70.

Now, while I am "NOT" bashing or trying to belittle Fury, his spec seems like it needs more defense than mine. I am sure our DPS is the same or more a less one sided (not sure which) with his Pets 24/7 and gargoyles I can't really say, by looking at our Armory (which I do a lot), and for whatever reason my stats are still wrong on there. It seems like I have more Armor (Toughness 5/5) which then gives me more AP (Bladed Armor 5/5) So there for I hit harder.


Now of course there is a 3 level gap between us, but I have about the same stats and about the same gear. He seems to be able to take the damage better, from what I can tell in Nexus. I wont know till I fraps Nexus to watch the videos side by side.


So all in all, you just need to bounce around with specs and see which one is for you. I like mine because of the DPS I put out. Fury seems to like his because of all the defense and pets he has to play with. Both of course, are still going to produce good DPS, but mine might produce more because of me going deeper into blood.

haha nice, I'm still waiting for an all DK team to hit 80 and then start heroics. What you guys are doing now I'm just thinking to myself, "this shouldnt be possible!" Not that I want you nerfed, its just that I didnt think it was possible. My 4Dk + 1 druid team is having lots of fun and I look forward to the challenges of a heroic dungeon.

Yeah I am not posting my movies to Warcraft Movies anymore. I only post them here and to one DK site. I too don't want to "advertise" too much and wind up getting the class nerfed in any way, shape or form. I think it's still early on in the 5-boxing DK class to tell too much about what is best. I watched Zero's movies. He hits very hard, but I see his health get big chunks taken out here and there and that just freaks me out. I think it's still too early to tell which is the "best" way to do this. I am glad I am not alone in this though =).

I am also very thankful we have a site like this to share ideas and experiment. By 80, with the couple of people who are boxing DKs, we should have a great idea on how to spec for PVE, PVP and/or both and get the most out of the class. I honestly think the 5box DKs would do very well in arena based on what I am seeing now. Tonight I should hit 75 and with that comes a new set of cobalt armor for increased stamina/defense/attack power. Add in the new weapon from the "Champion of Anguish" quest in Zul'Drak and it will be a fun couple of more levels til 80 =)

Yeah, most of the time I wont be paying any attention to my health and then "Smack", I am at like 20% going ohcrapohcrap Rune tap! lol... That's why I got Will of Nec, to help save my ass when I get boss crited on and I already used IBF/Vamp/Mark.. hopefully the 30sec Tap is up, but you never know...

I try and solve it by using the CD's more often than not, back in the Old world, I only used it if I had a bad pull, but now, I try to use it all the time, I mean, it's a min CD, it gives you +35% to healing and 20% to defense, that right there is awesome 1 min CD. I am going to play with macros tonight and test a few attack patterns that is best for my team.

I love heirloom weapons. When I hit a new level I check out what my axes damage has changed to, so cool =) All 4 of my DKs have that and the +10% xp shoulders. I may just catch you guys in leveling. I am almost 74 right now! But I work for the next few days, boooooo

Lol Multi, you are higher level than me... so no catching up to me, lol. Though I hope after work today I can start leveling again because i got my Nexus video done.. Zero Deaths. Went to record the run before, but I had one death at Ormorok the Tree-Shaper Was lagging the whole time and I could not keep up with the Ice in the ground, so at the last second my main got pwned in the ass, but I did Keristrasza without any deaths.
