View Full Version : What constitutes "General Discussion" and "New Multi-Boxers & Support"?

I have three moonkins at 80 and have learned a great deal about multiboxing in the process. Based on that I wouldn't consider many of my questions to be "new MBs."
However, I'm venturing into 5-boxing territory and with that many of my questions may be considered (by some) "new MBs."
Is the New MB forum for those just starting out on their MB journey and don't know much about anything or is it for the rather basic questions that anyone with that certain playing style could answer?

New Multi-Boxers & Support is for people just getting started, anything else should go into General, unless it is a particular topic that has a forum elsewhere, such as PvE, PvE, Group Discussions, etc.

Team Plethora could sure use your help dealing with that evil ole team, "The Zerg" (see sticky above: Clash of the Titans), or you could join that evil Horde team. It's really easy to get started, just roll some D-K's on that PVP server, and you're almost there. Get in on the ground floor, and if you order now, we'll throw in FREE a few wild gouls! 8o

Heh, I am definitely going to join as soon as my new rig comes (estimated arrival is three weeks away... doh!). Until then I don't think my computer could handle the big fights and it would be an exercise in lag frustration. Keep the epic battles going and in a few weeks I'll join with 5 DKs for sure!!!

As a personal opinion... ask yourself...
"Am I starting up my first group?"
consider Newbie forums
"Am I setting up my computers?"
consider Newbie forums for general questions ("What do I need?"), or Hardware forums for specifics ("Will xyz brand/model work for abc?")
"Am I setting up my software?"
consider Newbie forums for general questions ("What software do I need?"), or Software forums for specifics ("How do I set up xyz feature of abc software?")
"Am I writing my first, or a new set of macros?"
consider Newbie forums for general questions ("How do I write a macro?"), or Macros/Addons forum for specifics ("I want to tweak my existing macro to utilize FTL")
"Am I installing multiboxing addons?"
consider Newbie forums for general questions ("What addons are useful?"), or Macros/Addons forum for specifics ("I want a macro that does xyz" or "How do I set up Jamba's abc feature?")
You see the trend?
If you have a specific question or request, generally you're going to want to ask in a forum tailored to that particular area. If you're asking a general question like a "What do I need?" question, that belongs in the Newbie area where people can give you direction.

With the excitement building, that three weeks may be a long as the wait just before christmans when we were young children :D We'll see you soon, but I can't make any promises about the free will goulds! :P
