Hey hey,

I'm trying to find a unit frames addon that doesn't give me headache.

XPerl: A mess.
ag Unit Frames: Nice, easy, but full of bugs.
Pitbull: Insanely complex and weird.

Any suggestions?

What problem is x-perl giving you? ive used it since pre bc and i swear by it. maybe i can help with that

Also have you tried regular perl? it doest have any of the fancy stuff. just basic unit frames

You've went over the ones I'd suggest. Curious about your xperl comment also, I've not had any problems at all with them.

I'm just unable to get a neat and tidy interface with the millions of config options it seems.. with XPerl that is..

I pretty much swear by Xperl as well. The main thing I like about it is the cast bars, so I don't have to look at my other screens to make sure they're casting (such as for an Oh Sh** heal). What is the problem you're having with it?

I'll give XPerl another try I guess.

Yep, it cost 6400 gold. :(

My two main problems with XPerl is really this..

1. Not enough contrast between health and absence of health. It's all kinda green and I don't notice when my slaves go low on HP.
2. I can't really tell the difference between hostile targets and friendly targets in the target frame.. so I'm not sure what's happening.. but I guess.. there is an option to change this.. hm.

Alright I figured out how to get more cues on target reaction, but I can't figure out how to get more contrast on the HP bars.

Try changing the bar texture, could be thats whats making the contrast smaller

under the Global option on xperl theres an option call Highlight Debuffs this is what make the frame display a different color when your effected by a debuff like poison . you can have it do the frame border instead of the full frame or disable it all together

also, figuring out whether your target is friendly or hostile is still hard to work with. it took me a while to get used to not being told if a player is of the other faction.

I don't seem to have your problems with XPerl... the base default settings work fine for me - the health bar is by default 3x as big as the mana bar and easy to notice, plus it turns yellow and then red as it gets lower, and you can change the % where it changes colors, etc. Honestly I didn't have to make any changes to XPerl to make it exactly how I wanted. The only thing I've changed on it is to set the "basic threat meter" on which is AWESOME because I only need XPerl on my main and I can see a little threat indicator over all 4 of my shamans frames that goes up and down as they build/lose threat.

I tried the new Pitbull (I think 4.0) this weekend and let me tell you it is much easier to configure now and I was really pleased with it.
