Everyone share your experiences. For me, after respeccing my DK and my 4 Shamans, I went into Gundrak and Drak Tharon and was EXTREMELY pleasantly surprised.

Less than 30 minutes to run each instance. My best time before that was ~45 or so, so this shaved 33% off my instance run time. I was almost able to kill galdrah before he transformed into a rhino and ended up killing him before i could even pull him to my DPS. A few bosses like Eck and the Colossus I didn't even have to cast a heal LOL. This is awesome.

Can't wait to try some instances that were harder before or I haven't tried yet. I'm going to blast through CoS tonight, I bet the bronze drake will be a lot easier to get now. Also want to try HoL for the first time especially since now all my shamans have 15k hp.

Anyone else with awesome post 3.0.8 instance experiences? On eck my shaman DPS was 2950, 2850, 2800, 2650 since I didn't have to heal and I had bloodlust up. That was probably with an imperfect casting rotation too as I don't think I refreshed flameshock.

Also, I killed Trollgore in 30 seconds and still didn't get the consume achievement - how fast does he have to die to get that?

Its not so much how fast, but how many people are in LOS when he decides to add stacks to his cosume. 5 people in sight, 5 stacks. He does it again , with an add in sight BAM theres 6 so 11 already. I think he does it every 20 seconds or so it seems when i fight him. Im sure if your dps was insane you could probably do it.

Well, I wasn't specifically looking at anything but the Death Knight PvE buffs. My mixed group (see sig) isn't quite 70 yet, but that's because I've focused on instance leveling. I'm likely to just run Outland instances to keep gearing up (aside from the blues and purples I have ready from crafting). Overall, I'm happy with it. The armor boosts and +def rune are a big plus for Death Knight tanks everywhere.

And while we're on it, the tank was FINE before the patch (assuming the difficulty doesn't differ much from Outland to Northrend). From what I hear, there are some AWFUL tanks out there, but that's strictly them and NOT the class.

Also, I killed Trollgore in 30 seconds and still didn't get the consume achievement - how fast does he have to die to get that?Faster than 30 seconds.

It's an ez achievement. Just tank him at the top of the stairs and drag him LOS to your shaman when he gets close to consume timer. When the stack goes up one, take him back, heal up, CL the adds that fly in, dps him, rinse repeat.

I think it took 6 consumes for me to kill him and get the achievement doing it this way?

Edit: Sorry, with my dk/4 shaman, I've been able to clear HoL and VH since before the patch, so I imagine it'll be easier now. Since the patch I added in OK and AN - even with buggy Hadronax, and got my essence of gossamer. I'm sure I can do UP now, i just had issues with aoe dps on the Skadi gauntlet.

With my 4 shaman, we were almost able to do Sarth + 1, but our pally tank was having issues with adds due to the craptacular server lag on Tuesday, so next week we'll get it. And I may take my dk into Naxx with the shaman this week, not sure. But Naxx10 clear this week should be a whole lot easier since my dps has significantly increased. We may try for the Patch, 4 horse, and Maex achievements as we already have the Grand Widow and Heigan achievements - just for fun.

Ive never seen a cast bar or seen him do anything except corpse explosion... I didn't even know he had a consume ability until I saw someone post about it here.

Even after reading wowhead I have no idea when he will cast consume, lol.

You have to kill the adds that come to him, so they dont add consume stacks. They are weak, mass TS is enough.

Make a macro. Hit it when you pull, and then when a consume stacks. It'll set the in game stopwatch to count down from 10 seconds and the raid warning you to move him. Then move him back to the stop of the stairs, wait for the adds to land, hit chain lightning and pest now that it's off cd and you'll be fine. Or you can go the brute force method, I personally found this a lot easier and 10x more reliable.

I dinged 80 yesterday. So no experience prepatch of heroics, just farming level 80 instances for xp since level 77. Equipped my BoE crafted stuff for my DK tank/shaman and flew out to Gundrak to try my luck. Finished whole run in 35 mins or so and only had one shaman death. Surprised i tried DTK and had similiar results so i hit up UK same thing.

Shaman dps is very acceptable now especially with the new magma mechanics. I found magma to be very helpful for several of the large pulls and for the bosses with adds. I even pulled aggro off my tank twice so maybe i need to rework his main rotations for more single threat. While i found the quick badges nice i was expecting more of a challenge for my first heroics as a fresh 80. I had to work harder at 70 when i started heroics with my 5 shaman team and my 4 shaman/pally. I'm not sure if this is directly a result of shaman buffs or just heroics are ezmode now. Later today I'm going to try some of the heroics I haven't tried and see how successful I can be in my craftable gear.

As for Trollgore, i think his consume goes off for how many targets are hit with his shadow AoE dmg thing. I didn't even try to move him or anything, just took him down asap with a bloodlust. I found Novos to be similar, just brute force and lots of chainheals.

The DK "nerfs" are not so bad, and the new def rune makes gemming/gearing easy for a new tank, right out of the box you can be crit immune with quest gear and a few crafted pieces. I did choose JC/BS for his professions which helps with the gem requirements too.

over all I'm very happy with 3.08

I'm getting better with Skadi on heroic UP, still haven't defeated him in multibox (done him solo bunch of times) but getting him down fairly reliably now, just wipe when he is down to mistakes. What I've found it best is to just to hang out at the entrance farming harpoons (looting on my tank) until I have 6-7, then I reset the encounter (run out). I run back to the tiny room and huddle in there, hand my harpoons to one of my shamans, who then goes off and aggros the boss and runs back to the harpoons. Meanwhile my pally is tanking everything and I am dropping magma totems every cooldown. As soon as Skadi is in range I shoot him down and he lands. I can do up to this fairly reliably now.

After that it goes to hell, usually there are a few adds still up, one guy is outside by the launchers and everyone else inside. People start dying before I can really react quick enough. I know you are "supposed" to position your group a bit away from the tank and taunt midway when he starts whirlwinding, but I just can't react fast enough when my group is all split up between the room/launchers and theres really no place to run, while adds are still up. Gonna haveta think about it a bit, maybe start running the group out right before my guy shoots the last harpoon.

I found running the gauntlet normally just didn't work for me, my tank would get webbed constantly preventing me from running to harpoons quick enough (so damn annoying!!) and someone would pull aggro and die while my tank is rooted. Definitely one of the most unfun bosses I've found so far :(

Magma totem does work awesomely in the room, it pretty much kills everything, a few thunderstorms and CLs finish any remainders.

blessing of freedom and dispelling? (not sure bout the dispel, but freedom works)
