Well, helping friends get 10 arena games in tonight and... lets just say its *really* messed up. Apparently the GMs confirmed it's "working as intended" but I simply cannot believe that to be true.

I had last week joined their existing team ~1350 rating, on Sunday we went 6-6 on this team and the net was around +20 points. Tonight we stopped after going 1-7 I think and team rating down around -150 total. We beat a 1700 ranked team and got 3 while they lost 22 points. We lost to a 1400 ranked team and went -30 ourselves while the other team gained 5. Ended up at 1200 or so overall. We then made a brand new team @ 1500 rating figuring maybe the team was bugged?? LOL, no. 1st match was against some 1350ish rank team and here's the result.

Next 2 games were losses for 25+ points each at which point we just gave up and logged.

With the release of patch 3.0.8 we have implemented a new matchmaking system for arenas that will improve the overall system and help ensure that players will be matched against others of equal skill. The new matchmaking system uses a rating that you cannot see, and is separate for each of the arena brackets.

The rating changes at the end of each match are affected by this new system, and as it just came out, there may initially be some odd behavior in rating changes, but these will straighten out fairly quickly.

We will monitor this new system and update it as needed to help provide the best experience possible in arena matches. "Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth."

It's pretty easy to see what they did. They included a 3rd personal ranking, which tracks your "skill"
Therefore if you drop your team, and start a new one you will queue for get this:

THE SAME TEAMS YOU WOULD ON THE LAST TEAM.

If you suck? You'll queue against other baddies.
If you just left a 2200 rated team? YOU'LL QUEUE AGAINST 2k RATED TEAMS, even though you just started another 1500 team.

Genius. Per Genius imo.

I'm betting, given past experience, there will be a way to exploit this...
