Hey guys,

I've got some Issues with my PC in the last 2 weeks or something. But can't find a solution. As you can see in the title, my PC turns off, without any decrease of performance.

So let's start from the start.

About 2 weeks ago my Monitor wasn't getting a signal from my Video Card. So I thought my VC is screwed (Geforce 6600GT 256MB, about 4 years old) So I turned of my PC for a while, and split it up in to its parts. Put the battery outside too. Then after a few days I build it up again, and it works but was turning off after a few seconds. So new PU , but no changes. Then I decided to change the battery (from my old Socket939 MSI board) into this(ALiveNF5-eSATA2+ R3.0) and it worked for a few days, then it happened again and again. Now I got it to work, but can't play long enough even 1 Box. I Just thought it could be my CPU but I was doing 2-5 accs without getting these problems.

So the only things that can be screwed are my CPU or my Motherboard.

(I thought It could be the temperature of my CPU gonna check that later, but it's not getting as hot as playing WAR)

Any other suggestions? I mean without the Videocard everything is just bought 4 Months ago -.-

Athlon X25400+ Black Edition 2x 2,8 GHz
ALiveNF5-eSATA2+ R3.0 (with older MSI battery)
4 GB Ram
Geforce 6600 GT 256 MB

Ordered a new Motherboard just to check if it's the problem maker but that will be delivered in at least wednesday or something. Maybe someone of you know what it could be? And would it be a case of Warranty or womething I mean just 4 Months, That's realy a point I do know as good as nothing about.

Wouldd be great if anyone of you could help me.

Greetings,
Shaitan

I had a pc a few years ago that did the same thing. My problem ended up being a bad power supply. I dont mean from the wall to the pc, i mean the power supply in the case. Mine had gotten clogged and was just too dirty to cool itself and would heat up and kick itself off. Might wanna check that.

Just an idea.

Yay, thx for the quick answer, but I wrote that I got a new Power Unit, but it were only 3 words, sorry could have made that clearer. Exactly that's the reason why I'm asking, that was one of my first suggestions, but after buying a new one same problems. My old Power Unit was only 3 Months old (bought it after my CPU and the other stuff) 380W and 350W the new one, but it can't be not enough power, because it was running more stuff before without problems. Gonna rebuild it again and test it again, maybe I screwed up by putting the CPU and Cooler in or something.

I've had similar problems to you before.

Turned out it was a bad Motherboard.

Things to try:

- Boot into safe mode and fiddle around with things... does it shut off then?
- Remove 1 stick RAM, try then. Next remove 2 sticks, try then... Just test if its your RAM.

In all honesty though, if your motherboard was cheap. ( like it came free with the processor ) , I bet it's that.

Just build it up again, and made the cooler 1 way/time/thing near/stickier to the CPU and it seems to work now. (just don't know how to say it sry)

If it doesn't I'll try you're tipps thanks.

Hm, haven't had a Problem with "cheap" Mainboards yet it wasn't one that was free, I let my fingers of of free stuff in the PC area. ^^ Just a 50€ Board to upgrade to X2 to play WAR, ordered a better one (wanted to get a second PC so theirs no Problem with that) if nothing helps , this will help then (I hope)

Thanks again, but till now it works with the Cooler/CPU thingy.

Bad ram, bad mb or power supply. Are you sure the power supply you put in is adequate to power the hardware? Is there any excess heat anywhere? There is a very good chance you have a piece of ram go bad, did you try the troubleshooting routine that was suggested above?

Yeah, wasn't turning off again, but tried it before their really is something, but was nothing found. I only have 1 Sata HDD My Video Card and my CPU in my PC (because I thought it was Power Unit, no USB except my mouse) Could get the HDD out (eSATA2 I run Windows over External - Internal gave same Problems) and have the same Problems. I guess 350W should be enough for just Video Card + CPU. Ram didn't make any difference. I still guess its the Mainboard. I was trying to run 2 WoW'S for as long as it turns off (if it turns off) to see if it's fixed now, if it's fixed I was just too damn stupid too deal with my new cooler -.-

How embarrassing, but it fit(fitted?) and theirs was no space between it and CPU, gonna try a "stress test", please don't wish me luck would just confirm my stupidity ...

^^

Edit:
Sad but true, My PC still turns off, even if I'm not palying games. Hope I get this Post out before he turns off, after every post I'm restarting -.- lolz. Gonna get my old machine up again :)
