Okay so I want to dual box 2 mages.

I read a macro guide but somehow it just doesnt seem to work... my secondary just will not cast.

I have already got a macro set on my main to invite my seconday to a group. I also did the /script stuff on my secondary to auto accept quests and stuff.

What I was wondering if someone could right me a step by step way for MAGES just to get me started.... what macros I need for my main and secondary... what example keys to bind them to and where to put them on my quick bar (on both toons)
because I just cant seem to get it to work. :S

I just want to use fireball for now as my 2 toons are only lvl 3. And yes.. I have a key thinger.. I am using keyclone

I followed this thread Macro's for New Multiboxers - A Quick Start Reference ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=1219') so are there any common screw up that would make my 2nd toon not cast?

Thanks for anyone that can help a n00b out. Once I figure out just how to get my secondary to cast I am sure I will be able to learn the rest through trial and error

Thanks
-Moonie

just asking, you know you need a program that brodcasts the keys too? Such as keyclone. If you just make macros in wow, nothing much will happend, sadly =) whondered since you didn't mention any program

Put 2 skills on your bar that are sure to cast ie. frost armour and make sure that keyclone is working.

Once youve got that set up try this simple macro

on your main
/cast Fireball

On your alt
1st macro
/focus (mainname)

Do that one on a seperate key( you could also set your focus by rightclicking their portrait and doing it manually)

then test your dps macro

/assist focus
/cast fireball

See how that goes.

focus makes things confusing, best to only use it in pvp really.

Its easier to grasp the basics using it though.

here any common screw up that would make my 2nd toon not cast?
Not having successfully assisted your main first, meaning your follower likely has no target. Look for messages on the drone's screen.

I assume you've bought a KC license? If not, it won't work. And as I recall it won't tell yout it's not working either - it'll just sit there.

lol yup I bought a key for like $20, anyways I think its just the focus part that screws me up... casue I can get it to work if its just /assist and /cast fireball

The simplest way to use focus for me is to just put all spells in as follows

/cast [target=focustarget] fireball

That example will cast fireball on whatever the player you have focused is targeting.

so write a macro:

/target name
/focus
*where name is the player name of the toon you are running as leader and selecting targets with*
or simply /focus your leader manually every time

Then put all your spell macro's in the style of the the first macro. This will give you basic focus targeting, after that I would find an in-game friend with some macro knowledge to help you out. Preferably a multi-boxer with some experience though that may be tough to find on some servers, what server are you on?
