This is my video called, The Life of Multiboxing, it's a bit different than my usual PvP in that it shows my RL setup and my keyboard movements. I hope everyone enjoys and if you have any questions just post em in here :)

Well it's been a while since I released anything worthwhile I'd say, and I've got that itch to make a video even though Shamans are struggling until the patch.

You've got two options!@ and I'll make whichever has more votes.
I will do an in depth sort real life video of me and my pc setup. Explain how it all works and show myself faceroll all over the keyboard for wins.
Or a PvP video, with more spiciness :)

I would benefit a great deal from seeing a vid of you in arena, specifically edited to demonstrate the complex tactics you use under certain situations, aswell as your bread-and-butter tactics, to get the most out of your team. As a complete arena failure I would value anything that gives me the opportunity to learn and improve my game, rather than another pwnage movie, although I like them too :). I think a strategy vid would be far more valuable to the community than a vid outlining just your setup.

I would of course understand if you don't wanna give tactics away!

Got critted for 6700 by a judment today in eots and i guess the guy had berserking but without my resillience it would have passed 8000.

I would like to see strategy and tactics. I started with Locks and Mages in TBC, and my Arenas were mostly bad with a couple of great laughs. I'm hoping the shamans wipe more floors, I'm not used to standing still and fighting though so it will be interesting. (and by that I mean non-instants)

I remember watching the other video with the "turn" macro for people weaving, and wasn't sure if it was just hitting the arrow keys to turn everyone or actually meant one button that turned two in one direction and two in another...

I liked the target the dps first post you had, is it still true with the teams you're fighting now? It seems more players have invulnerabilities (ice block, bubble, etc)

The positioning advice was also great for the "best" spots in the Arena to make your stand.

Like for myself, I have a macro that I push the 4 times for my totem spread, with the spread out tremors, groundings, totem of wrath, air, 3 healing, and 1 mana, a poison cleansing in there. I have one for round robin TS, another for trinket all 4 TS. I have one for 1 FS, and 3 ES. I have a main damage button which does some Flame shock, lava burst, chain lightning sequence. I have another macro to round robin earthbind totems, and another that drops 4 FN totems, and if hit again drops 4 magmas.

If you had that info in typing, then the vids showing the application of said macros for different scenarios, that would be the bomb.

At what avg % of health do you decide to stop and heal up? It looked like if you got to 60% or so it was time to chain heal. My arena matches are so fast it seems like I am dead before I can even begin to heal. Thats with 800+ resil.

It really depends on what your up against, 4 DPS teams I heal very early on because I usually need to be topped off before I can go on the offensive, for 3 DPS 60% seems like a good # :) I really have not thought in depth about it, just able to gauge your opponents and know what they have to offer and be able to handle it.

Few quick questions:

Your slave movements, i understand its secondary but how do you pair this with any formations? Do you use any formations, i really didn't see any in the video although I could have missed it. I just now was able to bind left and right arrow to shift + left / shift + right to the slaves, so that as long as my main is up, I can move the 3 independtly of him.

What do you do for trinkets ? Do you just have one macro for everyone to blow their trinket, or do you seperate them? Im currently working on my x-keys to try and do seperate trinkets, but I dont think thats going to work. Ill prolly get confused on what to hit. My trinket for my main is by itself completely, the trinket for my 3 following characters is bound with my Thunderstorm which also uses Elemental Mastery. The best suggestion I can give is to keep everything as simple as possible, the more keys I have the less I'm able to do, I try to keep all of my main keys that I use to a minimum by either combining ones that work well together such as the trinket/ TS / EM macro, a Cast Sequence Totem Macro, etc.

Loved the video. Gave me some ideas for some arena issues I'm having in 3s. I had a question about follow though. I'm guessing that you have movement keys at WASD for screen 1. Screen 2 is controlled by the n52. Screen 1 can also be moved with mouse run. How do you handle movement for 3 & 4? Do you have them follow 2, 1, or both depending on situation?

As for targeting, I'm guessing the slaves target off of 2 and you have a key bind to have 2 assist 1, or do you only target off of 1?

The keys on the numpad, are there movement keys there, or just abilities for screen 1? All of screen 2s abilities are on the n52, correct?

Do you use a cast sequence macro for your nuke (FS -> LB -> CL)? Trying to figure how to reduce the amount of buttons i use, currently use around 5 or 6, trying to get it down to a 3-4 so i don't have to move around as much.

Is your mains TS, on a seperate binding as your slaves? At time 9:03 i see you cast a single TS, other times during the arena match i see multiple going off.

There is one instance in the last arena match, where you have nova totems going off and you pop TS at the same time, but im pretty sure the mains was used just like 20 seconds earlier.

The main is completely stand alone from the Followers, so If I push Thunderstorm on the main, only 1 goes off. If I push Thunderstorm on the Followers, 3 will go off. Or I can push them together for 4 to go off.

How do you normally tend to employ your thunderstorms against rogues and feral druids? I really was getting my ass kicked last n ight by a full valourus rogue w/ kt weapons and same for a druid.
Nearly a insta-gib on one character (grant it they are level 76).

What im doing currently, is warstomping after the opening move. This I have sequenced , which is then followed by a x4 TS (maybe this should be x1 just for the KB). Rogue flys away, gets flameshocked x4 (he usualy pops cos at this time) so now running back in its time for another warstomp as I get fan of knived and raped. When i think its a few seconds ill drop the round of firenova totems to get in another stun and hopefully finish the rogue off before that wears off.

This worked when it was just the rogue vs my 4 76's, but when we added the druid a warlock lol i was pretty much dead. So im thinking that two thunderstorms would have been much more beneficial.

Just so i can grasp this, no broadcasting from screen 1, only between slaves. All movement is done via keyboard while in combat (awesome use of your thumbs lol) Which targeting system is this ?

How is your totem macro currently setup ?I have 2 poison, 1 disease, water/ fire resist, WoAir, ToWrath, 2 searing totems, and 4 tremore sequenced right now. Im wanting to step up to i think 3 poison cleansing, and dropping my frost resist but im not sure. I keep grounding on a different macro so they all go down at a time.

How do you deal with grounding totems? (Like the opponents) Its a pretty crappy mechanic but when we cast so close together the game doesn't know what to do so it eats all the spells haha with one totem.

Your earthshock binding, is this broadcast to all or just a single character? I currently have a single ES button, for whatever main window im up but im considering tying it into the FTL system.

The picture is nice, while it may be very trivial to you alot of people can look at it now and see what spells you favor for emergencys. ie: which ones you keep close ya know?

I *REALLY* Wish i could find a way to have 3 sets of movement bindings, like being able to move foward with w, up arrow, or like shift up arrow lol. Alright well this is about it for me atm, gotta get ready for work

I use the same basic setup, except I use the N52te and I dont use the keyboard for anything except typing. I also use a Targus Numpad for PvE stuff, since I dont use mutiple action bars. My scroll is for instant GW for example and since I use Keyclone, I have a TS round robin and an all TS if I choose.


I do have a question tho. I see only one healing button/macro. Do you onlt use CH or is there a :mod for LHW?

Lesser Healing Wave is on the right hand side where you put your thumb, it's #5.

The one big drawback to using the mouse scroll wheel on the Nostromo gamepad is if you scroll too fast. Those keys completely lock up. So I have to reach down to my PC, unplug the usb port and plug it back in WHILE in whatever setting I'm in, it's crazy but I can't find a fix for it :(

Something like this would be my Main's PvP spec, sacrificing a lot of deep ele talents for the gain of 10% stamina in Enhancement to stay alive better. Perhaps I might drop Totem of Wrath and place it on another character to gain a little more damage.

Yeh thats true. But i was thinking for a setup that would let the adds turn even if u switched main. but nwm, i Got a logitech mouse with a turnweel on the side. works wonders for slave controll ;)

if you need mana totems, drop them manually if your low - otherwise in a PvP setting, have 4 cleansing totems is much more important.

Thunderstorm glyphed now is a 38 second cooldown which is huge, mana should be even less of a problem. Usually my rule of thumb is if I run out of mana in a 5v5 I did something wrong or got outplayed.

I see your point. we highly depend on nuking down peeps fast, as this is kinda our only strenght tbh. I've been trying to mess around with totemsetups lately, but i cant get a setup i feel 100% comfortable with, but ill try your for now.

Ellay, What glyphs do you plan to use? There are so many for elemental shams now its hard to choose.

Glyph of Totem of Wrath (new) - When you cast Totem of Wrath, you gain 30% of the totem's bonus spell power for .
Glyph of Hex (new) - Increases the damage your Hex target can take before the Hex effect is removed by 20%.
Glyph of Stoneclaw Totem (new) - Your Stoneclaw Totem also places a damage absorb shield on you, equal to 4 times the strength of the shield it places on your totems.
Glyph of Shocking - Reduces the global cooldown ('http://www.wowwiki.com/Global_cooldown') triggered by your Shock spells by 0.5 sec.
Glyph of Fire Nova Totem - Reduces the cooldown of your Fire Nova Totem ('http://www.wowwiki.com/Fire_Nova_Totem') by 3 seconds.

I really like the LB and EM glyphs, and the TS is nice also. I think I might try the stoneclaw instead of the TS to start on my main character and grab the TS on the slaves. I round robin my TS anyways. Having a absorb sheild thats 4-6k dmg is good buffer. Of course with dual spec my PvE glyphs will be different.

I got a question for ya ellay/anyone. Healing macro/s please In reality just the LHW I am having issues on targeting for my LHWs.

Also, curious i see that jamba is used, but do you strobe follow?

Some questions if you don't mind.

The alts have only one key for Lesser Healing Wave. Is it setup to heal the main's target if friendly, target of target if unfriendly and heal self otherwise?

How do you target your chain heals? Do they just cast it on themselves?

Both Lesser Healing Wave and Chain Heal assist the main, if it's a player it heals them if it's a enemy it heals themselves.
