View Full Version : AoE spell macros?

In the good old days it was possible to fake mouse clicks by using the MiniMap: PingLocation() method. If the minimap was configured to rotate it was possible to cast AoE spells like Rain of Fire 10 yards in front of an alt with a macro. Unfortunately this was "fixed" by Blizzard half a year ago and doesn't work anymore.

Another way to is to broadcast mouse clicks to the alt windows. It works fine if the windows are visible on the screen, but I play with all alt windows minimized and there seems to be no way to fake a mouse click in a minimized WoW client window.

I gave up on this when the MiniMap: PingLocation() workaround stopped working and haven't used any ranged AoE spells since then, but I want to give it another try now.

Does anyone know any trick to use ranged AoE spells in a macro?

There is a way using HotKeyNet. I am pretty certain there are a few threads about it, but I cannot link them since I have none of them saved... Try the search function.

Can HotKeyNet broadcast mouse clicks to minimized windows? The WoW client seems to ignore all mouse click messages if it isn't visible on the screen.
