Please do NOT edit http://www.dual-boxing.com/wiki

I'm currently in the process of shifting it to http://www.dual-boxing.com/mediawiki Once everything is shifted I'm going to replace /wiki with /mediawiki. If you want to help, feel free to create a new wiki account at http://www.dual-boxing.com/mediawiki and start moving pages over that you see missing Please retain all page names so nothing gets lost. The Goal is to get the new wiki running with the same content, and then move it back to the /wiki URL so we don't break the thousands of links to the current wiki.

Contact me if you have any questions. Thanks to everyone who contributes to the wiki.

You are teh roxxors. I'm glad to see some 'deconsipation' of the wiki from the community as well. It's a great resource.

I've exported and imported a big chunk of the wiki. I need a second (or third or fourth) set of Eyes to go over it and make sure I've got everything. If you see something I missed just export it on the old wiki and import it on the new wiki. If you're unsure of how to do this let me know.

Can we temporarily save the old wiki as like /wikiarchive or somesuch for a few months until we're sure that everything was moved correctly?

Can we temporarily save the old wiki as like /wikiarchive or somesuch for a few months until we're sure that everything was moved correctly?Yes, thats my plan. I'm going to do the wiki swap this weekend, I want to give people as much time to help move stuff around before I go swapping it.

So is this done yet? I'm not entirely sure what is being done with the Wiki change, I'm just wondering if we can go add stuff yet, or if we should still be holding off for something.

Just checking because I don't do much wiki'ing.. are we still supposed to use the new link?

yes please use the new link, I haven't swapped the wiki's yet because I'm still tweaking things around. I apologize for the delay.

No problem! I just wanted to make sure I was putting the stuff in the right location. :P

Thanks!

You should prevent editing on the old wiki and put up a big "WIKI HAS MOVED" message somewhere. Right now this thread is the only indication that there's a new wiki. Even the main menu link on the forums points to the old wiki.

Gaaah! I didn't notice this!
What 's the reason for making a new wiki and leaving the old one editable? o_O
What happens with all the forum links? Are you going to rename the new /mediawiki to /wiki eventually or will all the links remain broken?
Why is this taking so long? If you make such a big move, it should never take more than a few days(or not at all). Especially not when content is editable on both wikis.
Why did you assume that the wiki editors read the forums?
Why did you not put a huge red notice on the frontpage of the old wiki that it shouldn't be edited anymore?
Have you noticed how many people (http://www.dual-boxing.com/wiki/index.php?title=Special:Recentchanges&days=30&limit=500) have been editing the old wiki?

[edit] I really understand if you couldn't find the time to undertake the move, we all have other things to do beyond multiboxing. However, isn't it better to just cancel the whole move or restart it all over? (but properly)

On the old Wiki main page we just pointed the first link to the new wiki for the EQ2 info.
No one ever updated that anyway. :P

PS - Turn pictures on in some-way-shape-or-form, please!

The old wiki is still editable because it's still "live" the new one hasn't been swapped over because there are bigger changes coming that will all be swapped over at the same time to make things a bit easier. Sorry for all the confusion. Should all be worked out before too long.
