Did anyone used to play Gemstone?

I used to love the old text based MUD Gemstone. After while I think I enjoyed writing little bots to level through the first 10 by doing devlvery quests. I remember having an audible alert anytime some suspicious text came up like "are you there" in case a GM was contacting me. I wouldn't sleep well at nights because I'd always be trying to hear the alert. Ah, good times.

I remember printing out all of Lord Tsoran's maps, putting them in plastic sleeves, and having a binder of all the different areas. Great game... good times... killing rats in the sewer sucked. Cracking your skull trying to climb to Icemule Trace sucked too.

actually was just playing this last month just turned off my 3 accounts.... Yes I was multi boxing gemstone lol. was using psinet and Lich to use a script that allowed me to control other windows with in-game alias binds.

40 wizard 40 ranger 40 cleric

and had a 26 rogue 17 rogue 15 wizard 20 bard.

turned off my account for a while so it will be fun for me again in a few months to play :}

lol; i used to play gemstone. was a great game. but i like dragonrealms better. I also printed out a buncha mpas and stuck them in plastic sleeves. lol. it was practically a requirement if you got very far in either of those games lol. i did go back (maybe 2 years ago now?) and dual box dr. wasnt terribly efficient hehe. ; course, gemstone might have been easier to dual-box. i dont remember it very well, but in DR combat was very reactive. ahh...brings back memories.
