For the past few months I have had the pleasure of playing and raiding with a person in my guild who 5 boxed shamans (known as Kicksome on these boards, plays the "Sweet Team"). When we first started raiding this style of play was quite foreign to me. I didn't understand how it worked, or why someone would dump that much money to do it. The more I got to know him (which was quite well) the more respect I gained for him as a player. As the months progressed I became increasingly curious on how multiboxing worked. He politely answered my questions about macros and keyclone, and eventually pointed me to these forums, where the world as I knew it exploded.

I continued to browse these forums to satisfy my curiousity. I often found myself wondering what 3v3 team would be the best with just 1 person controlling all 3 characters. As the snowball rolled I found myself hungrily reading the wiki, and perusing the noobie forum. When that didn't satisfy me, I started to read up on the macro forums, getting right down into the nitty gritty of it. The snowball continued to roll.

Less than 2 weeks ago I went out and treated myself to a new laptop (which of course I told myself I’d been meaning to get anyway) and picked up 2 wow battlechests, and off I went. I decided on rolling 2 new mages to compliment my (formerly) retired 70 mage. I spent levels 1-15 dual-boxing and life was good. It was pretty simple to control 2 characters, although I had a long way to go on working out my macros (I was just using very simple /assist frostytwo macros).

Levels 15-42 were simply my 70 mage aoeing the stockades and SM until he was blue in the face. Then at level 42 I went to tanaris, where I encountered my first few hiccups. I had not bought abilities on my mages since lvl 10 or so, and spent about 3 hours working out my /focus macros as well as PiP setup and everything else. The work paid off because afterwards it was my first true multiboxing. The joy of seeing my 3 mages casting frostbolts in sync was overwhelming. I am now level 47 and truly addicted to multiboxing.

So first and foremost thank you to Kicksome for all of his help and introducing me to multiboxing. Secondly thanks to everyone who contributes to these forums on a regular basis. Your work has proven invaluable to me. I definitely could not have done this without the wiki and macro information everyone has shared. I look forward to contributing to these boards in my own way as I continue to grow as a multiboxer.

P.S. Sorry to whoever goes by "Frosty" on these forums, but my mages names are "Frosty" "Frostytwo" and "Frostythree". Didn't mean to gank your posting name.

Kicksome is awesome, though his avatar causes me physical pain every time I see it.
