Just getting started boxing, and playing 5 of one class is clear enough. When I mix 2 classes, I mind fade out. How do you set keys when one casting/healing and the other is breaking face with a 2-handed mace? I guess 24 keys would be plenty. To start 1,2,3 would be attack/melee, and 6,7,8 can be casting and so on. I have played every class so I know the basic moves of each. Hit me with a big CLUE stick so it sinks in.

another concept is to bind similar abilites to the same keys.
example: you have a Mage and a Warlock
Mage: 1=Fireball
Warlock: 1=Shadowbolt
and so on and so forth.

Welcome to part of the fun of multiboxing.
Figuring out a setup of spells/abilities that mesh well together.

It really depends on how many different classes you have.
If you have added a second class to tank with then you have two options.
1. use a castsequence macro on the tank that does the abilities you need to maintain aggro.
2. Unbind the 1-= keys and just click the abilities as and when you need them. Then you can concentrate on tanking, and just hit the number of the spell you cast on your alts. It takes a little while to get used to but isn't too difficult.
If you have multiple classes then you need to work out the core abilities you will need and map them to similar abilities.
For example is there a main attack you use all the time. E..g lightnight bolt on a shaman Wrath on a druid.
put them on the same key - take cast times in to consideration.
Alternatively you might try and castsequence attacks.
e.g
1 key gets a shaman to put lightning bolt.
on the warlock this might trigger a castsequence doing curses and dots.
If you have a dedicated healer I would seperate his heals off on to another set of keys, targetting different players with different levels.
(I've never had a dedicated healer on my team, so don't know how that would work.)
Unfortunately no one can really give you a setup, you have to work out what works for you.

What he said.
My first team was 5 unique classes, but I switched to running fewer classes, as it was a bit easier.
I make big use of castsequendes, and castrandom. I have my mages DPS buttons spread out for most of the spells I use, depending on the situation, and have the same macro on my tank and healer for all those buttons E.G button 1 is fireball on the mages, and my sequence/random on my other 2, button 2 is scorch, and the SAME macro for the tank/healer. Etc etc. The macro keeps its place in the sequence, so I can do scorch scorch scorch fireball manually on the mages, and i just do my sequence like normal on the healer. I only have to add a few spells on the healer and tank above and beyond the macro.
If you are throwing different dps classes into the mix, just put the same cast times on the same keys, otherwise you have to mash the key, and get tons of "spell not ready yet" errors on the other toons, which gets annoying.
Good luck, and have fun!

I think I will try 5 gnome mages. I know the start area and I have a mage to 19 (shh..Twink alert). Little worried that I have the accounts already but they are in different names/mail addresses. When I get it set up like I figure, then I will RAF 4 accounts. I might be putting a couple into retirement. Having thought it over some and getting lots of good ideas from this great site, I think I see what people do for their set ups.

My advice is raf accounts then mess about with ur setup. Doesnt cost anything to raf up to 20 anyway so gives u plenty of time to mess about with ur setup before paying anything. When RaFing send to same mail address and in the same name as the Veteren account. Hope this helps.

Alright. Before you do anything, check over the wiki for RAF advice just to make sure you plan properly. The real trick, though, after you've decided what accounts link to what is going to be to NOT create the accounts like you normally would. Instead, log into your main account and RAF yourself. THEN use the code that shows up in your email inbox to create a trial account which you THEN upgrade with your account keys off of the box (i.e. the Vanilla WoW keys are used to take the new account from trial to retail, repeat as you see fit).
TLDR: Recruit yourself BEFORE creating the accounts or else they're not linked and it's all a waste.

Since im melee and melee doesnt really have "cast times" what I do is I have one spam button for single target, one spam button for AOE. For some classes there is no distinction, but for others it makes a difference.

I read about the process and I see chain li nking is the way to go.
Main account "a">RAF>new account "b" start trial, upgrade to Full WOW. You say to use a retail box, why is it better then doing it online? already have 2-3 of each version. ?(
so A>B>C>D>E so you have 5 account and all get 3x EXP and summoning.
I used RAF before as the New account for friend to get Zebha? and I got a 60 a 40 and a 30. 1 friend got 2 60 using the extra GaL. ?(
