Anyone else find that friends, family, roommates etc etc get really excited about you boxing Wow(that is if they are playing) and swear to help boost your team...and then crap out on you? It's happened to me with my brother, roommate, and sister in law. You all reach this point, pass it? Granted ive only been boxing a little while, but ive been playing since beta. Im all but fed up with having to rely on anyone for anything. Remember back in the day trying to get Dal Rends swords? uggg...

Im about to say F*%# IT and just get two more accounts and another box and just do it myself. Then when i have more gold and goodies then them ill toss em the double tall man when they want my help. My new plan will be my 3 mages for dps, druid i already have for heals and a DK tank. I should have plenty of CC heals and tankage to wtfpwntang my way to 80.

I figure along the way i might be able to befriend another boxer or a guild to get into some of the end game content. If not ill just hang out with Drek and wipe those silly enough to take a peak before the towers fall.

Anyone just finally say to hell with it and buy those extra accounts? or did you always 5 box it?

Hasta
DB

I went straight in at 5 with no boosting - but I have no friends...

Went straight to 5-boxing... after all, 5-boxing means you don't have to rely on anyone else :)

I started with two and took them to 60 then went to 5.

word of advice, dk tanks are well... dps.

It would be much easier for you to run a prot paladin if your planning to do instances, consecration just nabs everything lol. and the rotation is simple.

This is just overall, my main is a warrior finishing up maly and naxx 25, (we would have cleared it, but naxx is lagging some hardcore). We dont even have a single DK tank just not worth it imo.

Unholy does great DPS tanking as far as I've taken my mixed group. Soon, I'll start in on Northrend instances to see if the trend keeps up.

It is nice if friends or family are there for you, and for important things they will be.
Warcraft is just a game... if your car breaks down at 2am on an isolated road, they'll pick you up.

As far as gaming goes, the only person you can rely on is yourself.
If you want boosting, use an existing toon you already have.
If you're on a new server without a higher toon to provide your own boosting, then anything others do is a very nice extra, but don't count on anything.

i dunno... only once have i ever had a hand, and that was a gold spot on a new server. and only once in the last 4+ years has anyone run me through an instance, but that was prior to multi-boxing. most of the guilds i've been in rarely have anyone logged on or active.

*shrug*

5-boxing resolves all those issues.

I never got into that situation when I started boxing. I single-boxed two priest(one for holy and the other for shadow), a hunter, a warlock, and a paladin to 70 before WotLK. Only seemed right to jump straight into 5boxing. My problem is seeing guildies leveling dps characters after dps characters and wanting to come to my instance runs.
