If you have the health, dps and healing you can take him down and not worry about moving and strafing all over the place. Once I learned this strat it made this boss much easier.

Keep in mind I tried this and did it the hard way with many wipes, etc. until I had the dps and gear to do it like this. That's the great thing about these videos lol, you look amazing when it works all perfect.

For gear each character has their T7 chest and gloves, then the rest is crafted or heroic gear. Most have 8 or 9 epics and the rest blues. None of these guys have set foot in a 10 man yet. I've been doing that on my main on another server, but I think I can do some of the bosses with a buddy of mine I used to run Kara with.

I really think the key is the diverse group and getting all the buffs. Motw, Kings, Fort, Spirit, + 40 stam food, +350hp elixirs, etc. I just load everything up I can to max HP, dps and mana regen. Then it's not too bad a fight.

Also, everyone is gemmed up and enchanted for everything. That makes a huge difference by itself.

My pally has about 30k hp when everything is applied. All buffs, food, etc.

I did this at 79 on normal and the tactic was well described on wowwiki but its removed for some reason.

It was quite easy when i just got the gear so i guess its pretty much the same case with heroic, but its never easy with just a few epics! :)

Now the imba thing on this fight with 4 shamans is that water shield keeps you from going oom since it pretty much goes off when its not on cooldown.

I spammed chain heal ALOT with 4 elemental shamans and i never managed to go oom!

I just did this on normal. I hit 80 Wednesday. My shaman have 13.3k health and my tank has 23.7k and 544 def. No strat, just tank and spank like the man said. I imagine I will need a bit more HP for heroic :/ After the lightning nova I just Chain Healed twice and went back to work. Earth Elementals, Heroism and burned him down. Easiest boss and the only one I didn't wipe on or lose any guys. Got my tank trinket too :) I can resocket me gear for 24 stam.

Really is a fun boss to fight, when I did it the first time (78 to 79) with my DK's, I would kill him just after his second wave. But now on Heroics (few toons with 540 defense and one being 23000+ HP and the rest only about 20 to 21000HP) I have my 20 min CD Army of the dead which I save for him, and on normal I get him down to 30% or lower before he even gets his first wave, on Heroic, I get him down to 60 to 50% before he does his first wave.

I haven't done this boss in a while, but I did it this same way. 3 healing stream totems, nature resist totem and 4 chain heals makes this pretty easy.

So, I'm really confused on this boss. I haven't done him in Heroic yet but cleared him several times on normal. And all I do in normal is position my alts, which are all ranged, on the first step and have my tank backed up against his throne. This becomes a laughable tank and spank. This guy is the easiest boss in the instance.

My question is: Is it that much different in Heroic? Does he have some other ability that makes it more difficult? Is the debuff that much stronger on heroic?

If you stand that far away from him on heroic the periodic aura damage your shamans will take will completely destroy you - i dont think that aura even exists on normal.

The damage is amped up significantly in heroic, so for example the aoe he does every so often (30 seconds?) hits for something like 15k each in heroic vs 4k in normal, and the damage he does when people are spread out hits much, much more in heroic than regular.

but as said he is a very simple boss if you just stack up, have some heal streams (or group heals) going on, and do a mass heal right as he is casting his 3-sec superspell. No need to move or anything. Of course this fight would be much harder if you had a paladin healer for example.
