I have a wierd bug when I use keyclone; At any given moment during "battle" my slave account will start running in one direction and keep running till I click in on it and press the oposite key of the way it is running, sometimes

I have to press multiple keys to "cancel" the auto running. I have my autorun button on the do not pass list and it is unbound on the slave account.

Has anyone here experienced this before, if so, what did you do to fix it.

It's super annoying when you have a main as tank and the slave as healer and during a boss fight, the healer suddenly runs off..

that's been happening to me a LOT lately. I heard it was because wow is getting a keypress down, but it wasn't getting the release keypress. But that still doesn't make sense to me, since all I do is use /follow focus macro on my alts. I've noticed it only happens on my melee team, where I spam follow a lot. I might try HKN and see if I have the same problems.

I think this happens sometimes when you hit a movement key, and then hit another key before you release the movement key. So you're pressing 2 keys at once, one is the forward key. It's like it's sending the move forward keypress down to another window when it shouldn't.

HotkeyNet used to have a similar bug but so far as I know, it was fixed last May. Nobody has reported the problem since then.

happens to hardware boxers as well

I'd like to wade in on the side of keyclone too.

Runaways are not a keyclone bug, they can happen to anyone multiboxing at anytime.

AFAIK they're actually caused by 'lag' or rather the fact that the various instances of wow and the wow server aren't always in perfect sync due to communication speeds on the internet. Which is why it tends to come and go and only happen at odd times.

For me it mostly happens during combats as I have the T key bound to a follow+assist macro, the solution is to keep an eye on your followers and if they run off mash the follow+assist key and they will come back.

Anyways just to clarify - this is not a keyclone bug it's a wow 'feature'

Press and hold down your button to run forward (like w or the up arrow), while holding it down, alt+tab out to a different window... your character will keep on running because it's only received the {w down} or {up arrow down} command, and not the {w up} or {up arrow up} commands... best way to try and stop it is by hammering all your movement keys again in that window... seems to work for me.

Thanks for correcting me. I think I misunderstood the description of the problem at the beginning of the thread. I thought it had to do with movement keystrokes sent by the multiboxing programs but I guess it's something else.

I haven't ever experienced the runaways using KeyClone and a whitelist.

Additionally I have never experienced them in any configuration on Innerspace.

As they have been generally identified as the key-up not being sent I'm not sure how a hardware boxer would ever get this anomaly.

i have been told by hardware boxers that they can get runaways by using /follow and getting hit at just the right time.

This happens to me only when I use vent because my push to talk key is L Ctrl. So whenever i am talking i have L Ctrl down. If I press WASD or any arrow keys with L Ctrl down they will continue to run. (usually to their deaths)

I fix it by either clicking the Runaways' window and then clicking the keyclone* mini icon on my running processes place. (next to the time on your computer)

Annoying yes but whatever, I just remember not to do ANYTHING while my push-to-talk is down :P

@monk3yv
actually, that scenario was resolved by UNCHECKING the 'strict' option in keyclone's do-not-pass

Excellent! Now people wont think I'm one of those shy vent types. :D

I noticed this for the first time a few weeks ago. It only happens for a little while after drinking Hot Apple Cider. I figured it was due the the alcoholic nature of the drink :)

I experienced it when I was steering my main and was moving the mouse in a slave window.

e.g. pressing W , move mouse to a different scope, release w, and the the main still wanders off ...

It also happened a lot when I had the alts as well on asdw movement.

mainly under control now :)

I'm currently tracking down my runaway problem.

My slave that runs has movement keys unmapped.

My slave that runs is on window that partially overlaps my main window.

Now that I think about it, I recently made the slave's window slightly smaller and running away diminished somewhat....

So I'm thinking there may be some wonkiness with Keyclone's "focus follows mouse" and which window gets...mouseclicks when windows overlap. (I mean more wonkiness than the amount Keyclone already has with they behind window popping to the top when it is not visible, etc :) ) (Or possibly it is unrelated to focus follows mouse and only has to do with overlapping windows)

I will try moving the window to see if that reduces runaways....

Get an addon called "keepfollowing" or "keepfollow" from curse. I think its been ripped and placed into Jamba too. It will stop the toons running off all over the place. HTH!

I have Jamba, which has absorbed that feature.

I'd rather solve the main problem than use some cruft as a workaround, becuase the bug is still happening even if the follow strobe recovers from it.

Incidentally, on the picture-in-picture supplied window config for Keyclone (1600x1200 example) I have now turned off 'focus follows mouse' and the bizarre mouse-warping-off-of-window bug stops exhibiting itself.

your probably find it does it again from time to time, focus follows mouse was never a feature i found to be "fluid". I still get the odd cursor goes all over the shop when interacting with NPCs even with it turned off.

OK. I have turned off focus follows mouse for all windows. Yes, you have to get used to clicking first then have the game see it, but it is much more stable. Even in this mode, occasionally the mouse will warp to the far left and click... out of window... because every so often I'll be clicking in the middle of the WoW window and the window to it's left will pop to the top as if it had been clicked.

So. Runaways: reduced if not eliminated by not have focus follows mouse, and not having a window overlapping the main window.

Mouse warping: Still happening, but much less frequently than with focus follows mouse on.
