I finally found out why Blizzard doesn't allow "recruit-a-friend" in Denmark. I used to think the reasoning was related to multi level marketing, but it turns out that the recruit-a-friend type of marketing ("tip-en-ven" in danish) is regulated by the danish law on marketing ("markedsføringsloven", MFL) and the case UfR 2002.2277/2 SH ("Telia Sport & Fritid") stipulates that the marketing responsible, in this case Blizzard, is liable for the breaches of good marketing practice (in particular breach of MFL § 6, stk. 1 about unsolicited advertisement) committed by the recruiter. I'm fairly sure that's why it's not allowed in Denmark.

I've been wondering about this for a while and wanted to supply the info, should anyone be curious :-)

I looked for the reason som time ago, and enden up being told that this ('https://www.retsinformation.dk/Forms/R0710.aspx?id=805') is the reason since we get a free month of playing, thats an economic win, but at the cost of another human getting forced into payment

Yeah, the link you're referring to is the danish law on multi level marketing, but what blizzard is doing isn't multi level marketing in the sense of the law. There was some talk about it being a grey area, but the fact is that other countries in which RAF is legal has similar regulations on multi level marketing.

They should instead grant new chars unlimited rested xp. up until lvl. 70. Why should you try and limit the numbers of high lvl chars a player might be able to have?

Theres no really good reason why it should take so long to get to lvl 80 when you already got a couple of high lvl chars on the server. They should change this somehow.... and im in for the unlimeted rested Xp's :)

IMO they should just let people with a max-level char start new characters at level 55/58/60, but then they'd lose the income from all the RAF'ers buying multiple new accounts :P

As a Dane I have been wondering for a while why RAF was not available, thanks for providing the answer.
It's a shame we have to do without RAF, no fair  .

But I guess that since we make up such a small part of the entire community no exeptions can be made.
