Hey all, I'm interested in rolling up a 5x DK team with my goals being strictly being BG fun, i'm not expecting to win any arena matches with a full melee team. I think this team would be very amusing to play with all the crazy defensive abilities and self healing, especially if blood aura continues to stack (anyone have insite on this? I haven't been able to dig up anything concrete anywhere on this being a bug or intended).
Anyway i'm trying to decide on my races (must be horde) so I'm leaning towards Male Taurens as I believe they still have the 9yard hitbox which seems extremely value (correct me if i'm wrong here). Also Warstomp seems like it would be excellent, love it on my shaman team but it would probably be even more useful on this melee team to allow for easier facing adjustments in PVP. On the other hand, undead for WoTF seems like it would be a great pick as I have no tremor totems....likely a much more valuable ability over warstomps but right now my deciding factor of Tauren over Undead is the extra hitbox range, for those of you who are crazy enough to multibox melee in PVP how valuable do you believe this to be?
Thanks for any ideas, also can anyone think of any good reasons to sub out a DK for say a ret pally or something for any increased PVP utility? HoJ seems nice, but with the ghouls all having stuns mabey its uneeded... I do have level 80 shaman already so theres always the option of bringing one of those in later on

I dont know much about dk but I made 2 cows 1 orc and 1 be. I have 3 cow shaman and they get stuck on everything.

Orc is by far the superior race for dps. Blood Fury and Command for 5% more damage from your ghoul and gargoyle is huge if you're Unholy spec'd.
Other than that I'd say Blood Elves for PvP - the amount of silences/interrupts is ridiculous.

Alliance: Night Elf because vanish, extra dodge.
Horde: Tauren because larger range, extra health.

crap I gotta delete my DKs and reroll an orc/be mix... I must be losing my mind I swear I didnt level all taurens, but then I went and looked and /facepalmed =(
edit: now I remember why I made taurens: they nerfed it, but taurens used to have a longer melee range so positioning didnt matter so much... so much for that.

I dont know if it matters but the reason I did 2 cows is camo. With 2 cows you cant see the orc or be as well. My original shaman team was 3 cows then I added 2 orcs. You can never see the orcs following cause they are inside the cows. Many many many times people message me or say wow 3 boxing. Then I spread them all out and they are like OH 5! I doubt it matters much but its nice camo. I think thats t he reason why solo players would always attack me while 5 boxing. It always looked like 2 cows standing there.

BG fun I would want undead for wotf. Fear was never a problem for my shamans, or my undead teams. My druids get in trouble quite a bit more often due to fear and only have a trinket and no second out. Also after killing a group of people i love to cannibalize (even if i don't need the health).

I just fully read your post and want to make sure you DONT choose Tauren for the extra range on hitbox, it doesnt exist anymore (nerfed ;( )
and as for blood aura stacking I believe that it doesnt, although I would need some confirmation on that.

Yeah I appricate the heads up! I did end up testing out the Tauren range, nothing real scientific but I couldnt tell any difference between him and the undead/belf. I did end up rolling them all as Undead...just seemed too crazy to pass up WoTF on a team that doesn't have a tremor field and arcane torrent seemed redudent/useless when we have strangultes and ghoul stuns
Anyway got them to 57 last night, spent most of the time with setup and what not. Having a blast so far, neat change of pace from the shaman for sure and i'm looking forward to some instances!
I think you made a good choice with undead. I was gonna do BE also for the silence, but having the wotf is a great OH SHI- button. You can macro /cast strangulate /cast gnaw /cast deathgrip in one button and it'll all perform at the same time with 1 press. Very useful for pulling anything in that you don't want to insta-fear your group. Only class that can still do something is warriors which kinda suck.

I rolled my NE Dks day one of expansion, secured names, used the last of my RAF, and parked them for rested. Took my to my main team to 80, did some grind, took another single toon to 80 (wanted to get my original hunter up prior to 3.08 nerfage).
Now that I am abit bored with the content, I went back to my DKs... and OMG PvE is insanely easy. Current team is 4 dks, 1 blood, 1 frost, 2 unholy with a priest I wanted to get to 65 before switching the heals to resto sham. I run them all in Blood pres. I have all the auras up so I max out the positives from each tree. I do need to tweak the two Unholy builds to have more synergy.
I also ran into a flagged mage in Helfire, and just for fun I attacked. I think he/she must have said OMGWTFBBQ after I simply IT(x4)-DG(I am set up for individual DG control) then one normal hit (x4) and the guy was on the floor. The sheer burst power seems way higher than my hunter or shaman groups. I have the DKs at 64 now, and really I just train a big group of mobs, stop, spin and go at it. DG in any casters and tada 6-8 pulls no prob.
I am having a lot of fun with my DK team right now and I have not even switched gear, maximized DPS, or even glyphed! I will tweak soon enough, but at this point nothing is very hard so I was just leveling. Also after playing a little on my ret pally, 70-72, I think having 1 ret pally with 4 DKs might be really fun and minimize the need for direct healing, but I will test at some point. I would think raiding multiple DKs might be fun too.
What I am not looking forward to is the effort to get another team from 70 to 80, too many required collection quests in the middle of quest chains, not looking forward to that. Rested expereince will help, but random drop quest collections are the bane of my multiboxing existance!

Ran my Shaman x5 team to 80 (Lightsouta, b, e, f, g) and did dailies for a few weeks. Am having fun running 5x DK now. As of post currently 4x66 and 1x65 (due to mixd RAF). Instance clearing is definitely more efficient as a DK team when comparing five of the same class. Team is lead by a female be Jaqueline (frost/frost presence) and four male orcs Feé (frost/frost presence), Fié (unholy/blood presence), Foé (unholy/blood presence), Fum (unholy/blood presence). Am slowly working my way to running different specs and eventually plan on running a team with a Pally, Shaman, Warlock, Hunter, ?
I take my time and have fun in most things. Thankfully, I feel that multiboxing has added a few more years to gaming - good or bad :)
Have fun playing whatever you do and with time your skills and knowledge will hone you to an efficient killing machine.

As of the other day blood still stacks i run all 5 death knights in blood and i see 5 blood auras. Plus on alliance i deff went draenei. Who cares about shadowmeld when you get gift of the narru. Blood specd plus vampiric blood increases all healing so my runetap at 75 heals for 6k every minute and then gift of narru hot heals me for a total of about 5k so. I much rather have the ability of an extra heal saved my ass tons against high hp elites.

interesting that the aura stacks, I might have to switch my guys from unholy to blood and see whats what. I currently destroy things so fast its hard to judge the merit of each, but I havent done any instancing yet.

Too update I've been leveling them as 1x unholy (tank), 3x frost (DPS), 1x resto druid. Very fun team, I've spent alot of my time just tweaking setup but the outland instances ive done were just a joke, my shaman team cried at how easily the DKs could zerg through everything. After a single rune rotation (~10 seconds) the entire pack is basically dead from AOE ~0-10% hp left on average
Really looking forward to hitting northrend instances

hah, sounds fun! I might have to move my resto druid from his current balance team to my dk team. I run 5 undead DKs right now and I kinda regret not choosing orcs for the racials...

I've done 4 dwarves.. I souhld have done Draeni instaed (even if they are ugly).. the gift of the naruu is one of the things I missed when I created my team...
I wish that the Blood aura will still stack when 3.0.8 comes .. 4 % of all damage done -> heal x 4 hmm sounds nice.. but isnt'it a bug.. are you seeing 4 or more blood presence and are you healed 4x2% damage done .. up to 10 % of your damages ... can be up to 20 % when 3.0.8 comes ... I think blizzard will stop this 'bug'.. but is it really working atm ?

I rolled Frost Gnomes, because they are kickass..
But if I went horde for PvP it would have to Undead for anti fear and Cannibalize.
BE AoE silence I didn't like it,getting to casters is fine with strangulate x5.
A bigger problem is fear Imho.
Taurens are to big and clumsy and cover improtant things, like rogues ;p for me (wish I had rolled Orc shamans now :pinch: )
