Hey guys,
so i have this lock, and im wondering (basically cause im afraid it will cause more harm than good) what do you guys thing about going demonology w/felguard spec? Im mainly running heroics, and doing pretty well. Right now im mainly using the imp for the stam boost. Anyone have experience with the felguard and boxxing with em?

Felguard/Siphon Life was pretty good for boxing last I saw. Lots of mobility, and a some low-attention DPS from the pets. Maybe less effective for heroics, but it should still work okay. Might be worth going far enough for Metamorphosis.

My team (Death Knight, Priest, 3x Warlocks) has been running three felguards from the moment they could spec into them. One of the best parts about the demonology tree is that so much of it is passive effects that are just clicking away in the background without you thinking about it. The felguards are no exception. Just having them out passively increases your survivability (soul link, Master Demonology) and your damage (Demonic Pact, Demonic Empathy, Master Demonology). They are hearty enough to live through most aoe and whirlwind effects at least in the regulars that I'm running especially with fel synergy (again a nice passive heal for you pet). They really only take damage in AoE's and since that will usually hit all my characters my priest is topping everyone off with an aoe heal anyhow so they happily and passively soak that up as well. It is a rare fight where the felguards can't make it to the end.

On top of all that gravy they are just little DPS engines that could. Are you life tapping? They are killing. Are you popping a potion or moving out from an aoe? They are killing. End of the fight and your mana is blown? They are killiing. You didn't even notice your warlock was facing the wrong way or knockbacked oor and isn't casting? They are killing. Are you in dalaarn selling your greys? They wish they were in a dungeon killing. With my weak gear and lack of a felguard glyph (it's in the bag and going in at 80) they still crank out 350 dps each. I hear they can scale up to 1000dps at 80 with good gear. The general consensus of the warlock community (from what I've read) is that if you are deep Affliction then the Felhunter is the pet you want out for it's shadowbite (bonus damage to dots). If you are deep Destruction the Imp really shines since its DPS can be boosted by talents and your bread and butter shifts to fire damage which is buffed by the empowered imp. For deep demonology the felguard is the pick of the litter due to it's nice master demonology buff, it's high survivability, and really nice dps that comes in right under the Succubus glass cannon.

All this leads to your multibox warlock talent spec. Affliction is our highest DPS spec with current gear however if you can keep up the required DoT uptime juggle as a multiboxer I bow to your awesomeness. So it's more of a choice between the passive survivability and damage boost from demonology + felguard or the smash them in the face Destruction +buffed IMP. I have chosen deep demonology because I don't run with a shaman (so demonic pact isn't outclassed) and metamorphosis is a very nice for the pop a trinket/cooldowns phase of dungeon fights.

Demonology Multibox Highpoints
* Passive bonus's all over the place
* For dungeons Metamorphosis can really shine
* Higher survivability then any other tree and as you know sometimes us multiboxers just have to eat some damage that other groups could/should avoid.
* Easy to Macro, Easy to maintain rotation (although destruction or Felguard/Emberstorm build is not too hard to macro I would imagine)

Felguard Multibox Highpoints
*Rugged guys that survive through most fights
*Nice passive bonus's provided just by having him out.
*They think of nothing but killing all day long. (errrrr.. high passive dps)

My deep demonology spec
(0/53/18) ('http://www.wowarmory.com/character-talents.xml?r=Sen%27jin&n=Alaisanna')

Fire and Felguard (higher sustained DPS with awesome burst potential)
(0/41/30) ('http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=IZ0xIzsgMq0sxzZVchVrzuV')

Short story I think they greatly outclass the imp in dungeon runs due to all the small little things that multiboxers love that come along with the felguard and the required demonology spec that comes with them.
