Hi,

So there has been a lot of chatter about tactics for all other heroics / normal instances, but hardly any about the (imho) most difficult of them.
The oculus.

The first 3 bosses are beatable, but did anyone come up with a tactic for Eregos yet?

kind regards

You could use the tactic for all of them to be on green drakes and kite the boss in a big circle... It takes a bit longer but none of the whelps can ever attack you if you move away from them...

Just keep the full dot and the dmg debuff on him and try to shoot some whelps for extra hp regen... you have enough time to move around a little before they will get off an attack.

Will try that, my main problem is just that moving more than 2 chars at once is rather problematic since follow does not work.
And thus as soon as i have to flee from the orbs its more or less chaos and death :)

The short version of how I do it. Buff! All normal player buffs benefit your drakes. So mount up in reverse order of buff importance that way you get all buffs on your lead drake at least.

I use either the 5 emerald method and use autorun on all 5 in the fastest succession I can and just alternate between windows turning left a little bit at a time while spamming dps keys. Then when the orbs need avoided you can just stop turning til your safe or turn outward or whatever your ok with.

The faster way is to take 2x red 2x amber 1x emerald. Get them all lined up the way you want them while below the boss and then just broadcast your jump button til your high enough to engage. Get the hang of the skills you need to use on trash and it's pretty easy once you engage. Never move just keep broadcasting all keys on all windows then when the orbs come keyboard turn 180 and run like hell. When you come back, keyboard turn 180 again and come back and repeat. usually you can get 'close enough' with the broadcasted keyboard turn to be safe and oriented properly on the boss.

Right now I'm working on the strat of park your team on the loot chest platform and engage the boss with 1 red drake and 4 players with no drake. Groups can probably do this fairly well with good mana conservation as the one ruby drake will benefit from all group buffs and totems and you can easily heal through the boss with one well geared resto shammy. Have yet to see whether the phase out will obliterate all your toons as I try and steer clear of that instance anymore.

I'm going to have a look if it works. I noticed (as you did as well for sure) that drake abilities can dmg players though, so it might get interesting with whelps and aggro and also orbs.
But I'll definitely give that a shot.
