I need someone that can multibox beat this on heroic to fraps it. I just can't believe that people can beat this.... I finally made it to the boss today and the first thing he does? Whirlwinds right into my shaman. I about broke my keyboard. I have tried both techniques, normal and the trick where you reset the fight. Resetting has got me at least to the boss, the normal way I eventually have some of my dps taken out by the adds as I try to move up the path. I'm about to quit trying on this one, I just want to be able to say I did it once. This fight is not a dps problem, it's a can-you-survive problem. I'm not sure I would have beat boss had he not WW'd right into my dps, as soon as he finished doing them he walked over and WW'd my tank and it was almost instant death. Not sure I can heal through that while trying to run away. Anyways just wanted to vent.

You can taunt him while he whirlwinds. So that's the (only afaik) way to drag him away from your casters. Your tank should be able to take the beating though i guess, my pally didn't die.

Skadi mostly is about concentrating and keeping a cool head for 10 mins or so :)

Suggestions:

.) Shadow resist aura on pally, it helps a lot
.) Frost resist totem, in case you do catch a breath

I do not reset the event anymore, but actually found it easier and more controllable to do it the normal way.
You have _plenty_ of time to move up to the end of the gaunlet since you need 5 harpoons anyway, so take things slowly and watch for the breaths.
Also place mana spring totems / all other totems so they're always within range of your group. I usually end up with 100% mana once at the end of the gaunlet.
Now, I prefer to fire harpoons with my healer, but fire the 5th (last) one with my tank.
When he's got the last one I move all dd / healer down the gaunlet again, so they're at max range to the pally (and boss).

Then pallie fires harpoon and grabs the boss. I then kill all remaining adds (rather important, especially the casters, they hurt a lot) and kill the boss.
When he whirlwinds towards the group you can taunt him before he reaches them (and pray for not getting a resist).

This fight really favors the ability to move healer / dd independent from the tank, I have dd follow the healer and move with healer and tank.

So, to condense all that to one sentence: Move dd / healer down the gaunlet before killing the dragon :)

Edit: And yea, your tank has to be able to survive the ww, because sometimes he will choose to ww him instead of a dd. And running away with a tank usually is a stupid thing to do (no dodge/parry from behind)

Hmm didnt know you could taunt him while he is WWing. My tank has some pretty good equipment, maybe it was just a bad spike of damage but it sure seemed like a lot of damage was going on. This fight may make me get the righteous defense glyph so I don't ever have a resisted taunt. I dunno, I'm still not too keen on putting more time into this damn thing. I would rather do the normal strat, but it seems like the dps get picked off eventually as you are making your way up.

P.S. Anyone try Xevozz in VH? Jesus Christ that guy is the most INSANE boss I have ever fought in a 5 man dungeon. He insta gibbed my whole team. I couldn't believe that blizzard expects you to be able to kill him and then I found this strat on wowhead:

I have only tried this method once, so I apologize for that happening. We were not too deep in to the water, but just far enough to avoid the orbs. I'll try Violet Hold again in the next few days and see if this happens again. My guild members have used this strategy, and they said it has worked fine.

I tanked him near the water of where Ichoron spawns, (not so deep that you're swimming, but you can still walk). The DPS / healers simply went further in to the water, as to avoid further contact with the orbs, and just to be on the safe side. When Xevozz was at about 50K health, I kited him back to the center of Violet Hold, and didn't have Xevozz despawn,

I'm gonna have to try that.
