I've just started making use of the mining skill i trained up as i was levelling and want to mine the titanium required to eventually get to the point where i can have four titansteel guardians crafted.
I've flown around wintergrasp, sholozar and icecrown and havent found a single spawned titanium node. I'm using gathere with some nodes a friend sent me while he was farming ore.
Does anyone have any tips for maximising your yield of titanium ore?
Thanks in advance.

titanium is like eternium and/or khorium.
look for saronite nodes instead.

I just bought 3 guardians, and had a buddy make the fourth with the titanium I found in all three of those zones...enough to make 4 bars o.O
It's pretty rare.

That's the problem I am having.. maybe two titanium nodes per region, and it seems someone else got there before me every time i fly by!

The two better zones for farming are Sholazar and Icecrown:
Sholazar: Accessible at lower levels, tons of nodes, tons of people, quick node re-spawn. Mostly saronite and the odd titanium.
Icecrown: You'd be crazy to do it with a land mount ;) , not so many nodes, so so much people. More rich saronite and more titanium nodes.
Titanium node can spawn pretty much in any saronite (rich or not) node location. Not sure about cobalt node locations.
My favourite place is icecrown. Think about it as a giant horshe shoe - fly where the lower level (where most scourge are) meets the clifs, and you would fly contoring the "horse shoe", rather then just back and forward.
Here is an image that I just did quickly, follow the red path :

Thanks for the tips, I will put them into action today.
Alchemists can make Titanium bars, so if you know any it might be worth getting them to do it for you (it does have a 4 or 5 day cooldown though), no idea if transmute masters can get procs on it, but the alchemist will discover a transmute by making the titanium, so there's a little bonus for them.

It can proc btw
On my 80 DK i ride around the western half of Wintergrasp, while the games Not going on, and can usually farm up a stack of 20 titanium ore in about an hour. I just hit all the saronite nodes i find and usually end up with quite a few stacks of saronite once i'm done. Not to mention all the eternal shards and gems as an added bonus. Usually theres no one else farming when i'm in there, every now and then i run into someone else farming and i just skip by them. Ganking/pvp is minimal on the server i play on if its in between games. I find myself running out of eternal fires more than titanium, theres a nice area full of fire elementals to the far east of the zone and the Elites(visible only when your faction controls the zone) usually drop 1-3 fire shards per kill, and there pretty easy to solo.

...I find myself running out of eternal fires more than titanium...This is exactly what I have experienced in the process of making titansteel bars. There is a node that spawns in the fire elemental area every five minutes and that is now my soul source of titanium while i farm the much harder to come by eternal fire!
